For those of you who might not know this (but I’m sure most of you do), Carlos Queiroz was a goalkeeper in his football playing days.

People still wonder why he gave Alireza Haghighi and gave him the opportunity to become the star goalie of Iran. People still wonder why Beiranvand is still starting.

I’m no football expert, I’m just guessing here and using my common sense. Carlos Queiroz must know something about goalkeeping and GK coaching since he used to be one and since the man has over 30 years of coaching experience. So my wild guess is that if he chooses anyone to become their new GK or allow the current GK to continue playing, he must have some knowledge on the matter.

Also, Dan Gaspar and Carlos have been together throughout many years. Carlos had a vision to help build a new modified foundation for young Portuguese goalkeepers for the future. He was one of the pioneers and open supporters for Portuguese keepers.

So I think I trust this man just a taaaad bit when it comes to who he would prefer in our net at the World Cup. But who am I to say anything. Carlos is the man in charge

I chose Beiranvand but I’m also a big supporter of Rashid Mazaheri. I don’t know what it is with our Lor e aziz. They produce tough goalkeepers. Besides their talents, Mazaheri and Beiranvand have proven to be both physically and mentally stiff on the pitch.

          Holy marg... What was that

Literally every other keeper we have on Team Melli would've saved that.. Such a slow shot too

I honestly don't get CQ's obsession over playing Alireza Beiranvand

Wow... what a garbage goal honestly. I can understand if it was his first time or if it rarely happened but it seems like EVERY game he lets in a very easy goal. Even if you look at his technique, it's ridiculous. At 1:37 he catches a VERY EASY ball and then after a few seconds he throws himself on the floor (apparently to stabilize the ball which was COMPLETELY unnecessary. Guys when I watch him play it scares me that this guy might start for TM.

Can you imagine we're having an amazing game vs Spain and then he let's in a goal like this, it would completely deflate the entire team.

He conceded a very similar goal vs Sepahan. Beiro could've easily punched it away.

No confidence at all throughout the game. He even seemed nervous when fully catching a ball.

This is seriously something you would see in amateur leagues, not from professional goalkeepers. I hope CQ opens his eyes before it's too late and we get multiple strokes by seeing Beiranvand starting in Russia

Give the man a break!! Today he broke the IPL clean-sheet record that was held by the great Armenak for 16 years! A weak keeper can't achieve that even with a good defense.

Armenak's record was 705 minutes. Beiranvand broke the record to 721 minutes before conceding a goal.

he lacks fundamentals as I have said, but what can you expect when he started being a GK at age 16, and wasnt exposed to proper, international level GK training until he joined PP ?? What he is capable of doing currently by itself is a miracle, and shows how much raw talent he has.

To be fair to Beiranvand, Donneruma had a similar game against Atalanta on Saturday. I don't think the problem is in Beiro's ability as a goalkeeper, I think it is just that he has very low confidence and is mentally very weak.

He needs to improve this aspect fast or he will get dropped for Russia

Also Hossein Hosseini is only another clean sheet away from breaking Beiranvand's record for longest time without conceding set yesterday by him.

Who know he may end up being our goalkeeper in Russia.

This guy Hossein Hosseini came out of no where and now he is impressing every one. You are right, he might also end up surprising us all as the main keeper in WC. Nobody really had Haghighi as the candidate for the main goalkeeper position last WC either and that happened.

we have now a goalkeeper problem.

beiranvand hype is over, he even do not use his long throws anymore. okay no problem with this, but he concede easy goals from inside the box. from outside the box he seems okay, but also in crosses he is not the best. we have a goalkeeper problem with this form....

Hossein Hosseini should be analyzed more, he showed good performance today. probably he can help. all other keepers should analyzed also. I am not satisfied with beiranvand anymore.
