Speaking of TM goalies, the goal Lak conceded was not very good either.

CQ said he will be taking 5 keepers in his list of 35. My guess would be (in no particular order) - Beira, Haghighi, Abedzadeh, Mazeheri, Makani

Beiranvand's weakness that could be the tipping point between a goal in the WC is the ability to come off his line, confidently, and either punch the ball away or simply make the right call on crosses/corner kicks. His physical physique is solid for what we have in line as keepers. A huge pro, the godly gifted throw he has, which certainly plays a critical factor in the WC if you think about it since we love counter attacks.

Abedzadeh is the best overall, IMO, but his lack of experience won't due him justice once WC comes around. I highly doubt CQ will start anyone else other than Beiranvand in June

If Hosseini is playing for Esteghlal does this mean that Rahmati is benched?

He needs to improve this aspect fast or he will get dropped for Russia
Yeah but Donneruma plays for Milan and Beiranvand for Perspolis respectively...

Beiranvand is the best goalkeeper we have at this moment, and you always have to play your best, the coaching staff, his family, the supporters should all give him confidence. There is much a man with confidence can achieve!

I agree. It might be too late to look at Hosseini and Abedzadeh. Beiro is pretty good all around, he's pretty good at crosses too. Even the best goalkeepers in the world have mistakes like that...donnarumma, petr Cech, Buffon, etc.

Based on what? the few highlights of portuguese league cup that show almost nothing?

Baba the problem is that he makes those kind of mistakes week in week out, it's not like a rare occurence

I understand your point. He's no Buffon and he makes these mistakes more often than any of us would like, but I still think he's the best we've got.

Player comparison in terms of reflexes, coming out confidently (yes they only proof we have of that is the highlights which are not much), and his mental strength. His physical attributes are up there, too, when comparing against the others. I still believe that Beiranvand will get the start, but he lacks confidence which is scary when we are talking about putting this kid up against Spain, Portugal and Morocco

I would also get mentally weak when everybody hates you for every little mistake you make.

Well thats why you aren't a starting goalkeeper for a world cup team lol...

Good athletes aren't mentally week. I know its hard but goalkeepers need to have a short term memory... Beiranvand has been shite lately and I think its getting to his head.

WOW dash Beiramvand has 35/56 around 65% of popularity he broke so many records and I'm quite sure we will see him as our number one man. All the best Kamal. Be at your best and we hope you shock the world with your massive insane throws as you first shocked us in Iranian league. Cheers

Looks like PFDC is pretty firmly behind Beiranvand despite his mistakes. I voted for him as well. Still think he is our best bet, although not an ideal scenario. The best we can do is get behind him, he is with good GK coaches at PP and TM, hope they iron out some of his deficiencies ( basically handling) . He did break a record and only conceded goals in the last WCQ match. If he is on high confidence for WC , then he is by far the best option. Rewatch the Russia and Montenegro games, he was overall fantastic
