we dont have players in PL because our players are not good enough for PL, or even if they are good enough, they dont have the consistency and physicality that the league requires.

PL is a much overrated league and players like Azmoun, Ezatolahi, Jahanbakhsh, Ghoddos, Torabi, Taremi, Mohamadi and Ansarifard can easily compete in the Premier League as there are plenty players with less quality who play in the PL
What makes Azmoun better than Ahmed Musa? Musa was one of the biggest talents and players in Russia but failed. Azmoun is a big star for us Iranian but he isnt the biggest talent in europe or a hyped player.
What makes Jahanbaksh better than Memphis Depay? Depay was one of the biggest Talents in Eredivisie but failed.
I could do a list of very talented players who were way better than the people u listed and failed in premier league. I just wanted to show that our players arent specail at all.
Why should I buy a player like Ezatolahi or Ghoddos instead of players like Pascal Groß or Riyad Mahrez? There are so many Groß and Mahrez in euorpe... so why shouldnt I buy players like Richarlison or Abdoulaye Doucouré? Our players are good for us and for our standard but when we are honest just open Transfermarkt and look at the players who are playing in France or Portugal. There are so many talents who are way better than our players and then people come and blame IR for not having players in PL...sigpic

It is not because one star player from an X league failed in a better league than all players from this X league will fail. Every player is different. I don't know Musa (maybe he faked his age btw) but the guy was good in the last world cup. He failed in a club from a big league. Ok. But, it doesn't mean he will failed in other clubs of big league aswell.
Some years ago, iranian players were failure in the Belgian league. Now one of the best scorer of Belgian league is iranian.
The problem for iranian players is that they have very limited opportunites in Europe. If we had someone like Wenger (who opened the path for millions of french players in England ; some of them were very overrated) or Mourinho (who did the same with portuguese players) we would have world class players out of some of our U17, U20 or IPL players.

There are South Korean players doing well in that league, so can Iranian players, it will depend on their ambition, motivation, professional attitude etc but the quality is there. Since football is a business, maybe Premier League clubs see no marketing value in Iranian players but that has nothing to do with them not being good enough to play in the Premier League. As i stated before there are plenty of players with less football talent and skills in that league

Armenia is a small Christian country, and it's political situation is not comparable to Iran. That being said Mkhitarian is a quality player

Bottom line is once we get more players in top leagues it will create a breakthrough for more players to enter. We saw this in Greece and also Russia. Although these are weak leagues, the establishment in top leagues is not there like we once had in the Bundesliga. Even Egyptians have established themselves in the premier league. The value towards investing in our players is not evident although I believe we have players that could perform in leagues in places like Italy, Germany, Spain, etc.
We cannot sit here and say that it is about marketing value. Our players have a huge social media presence if that really mattered. I do agree though that players from countries such as France, Brazil, Spain, etc. are given more of a look at but people understand the development of footballers in those countries. It is tough to determine the value and competition of players excelling Iran's league as the league is not well known. Scouts want to find out how players perform consistently throughout the season.

In Greece, except iranionios, no other team purchase an iranian player on his own. ok maybe Taremi was a real target.
in Holland, JB is successfull since 5 years ago but no breakthrough for iranians there.
Wait & see for Belgium .
Don't want to compare France & Iran as the situation isn't comparable but I remember how Wenger (followed by Houillier) introduced french players (from the best to the most overrated) in Arsenal, Liverpool. then it was impressive how every PL clubs signed tons of random french or ligue 1 players.

I just remember when players went to Germany it came in a wave to follow. Also, Nekounam going to Osasuna helped Shojaei come to the club as well gaining experience in La Liga
