At least he's getting paid now for not playing football compared to a couple of months ago.

Sounds encouraging to know that they might give him a chance for next season though, and not dump him like Wolfsburg. Perhaps he can return to top form by the time of the Asian Cup?

Hopefully not, I have high hope on Shekari, Ghoddos, Arzani (?). And Asian cup has absolutely no value next year as the winner don't go to confed cup

Where did you hear that? The Asian Cup winner will qualify for the confederation cup as usual.

In October 2017, FIFA divulged plans to abolish the Confederations Cup by 2021 and replace it with a quadrennial, 24-team Club World Cup and move the latter tournament from December to June. A decision is to be made in March 2018.[3]

Do you know when in march they will make the decision? personally I like that idea, however regardless of the confederations cup the Asian cup will still matter in my opinion.

I feel the only reason they are holding him on was similar to Gucci's, when he was at Charlton Atheletics. Its all about publicity, and if Dejagah eventually does get fit for the WC, they'll have a WC player to boast on about. Good for Dejagah possible future, but somewhat good for the host club to cheer their fans.

Israeli soccer player Maor Buzaglo, who is in London for treatment of a knee injury, posted an unusual photo on his Facebook page Sunday: a shot of him in the smiling company of a fellow midfielder – from Iran, Ashkan Dejagah.

The picture, in which the athletes are both sitting on training tables, is particularly noteworthy considering that in 2007 Dejagah declined to come to Israel for a Germany Under-21 match; the Tehran native moved to Germany with his family when he was 1.

Dejagah, a 31-year-old attacking midfielder, was born in Tehran, grew up in Berlin and played on the Hertha Berlin youth team. Professionally he has played for Wolfsburg in Germany, Fulham in England, Al-Arabi in Qatar – and now he’s back in England with Nottingham Forest.

In 2012, Dejagah agreed to do what he had turned down years before – representing the Iranian national team. He played for Iran in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and has recently served as captain for a number of games.

In 2007, he defended his decision not to join his team for the match in Israel, telling Stern magazine that "according to the law in Tehran, they would put me in jail with a passport stamp from Israel." He added, "Besides that, no one knows what they do with Iranians in Israel."

I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

It seems they say Dejagah might be able to play in another 2-3 weeks. Iran is seeing if they can bring Dejagah the March friendly

I think he might even play a few games for nottingham forest.
