Basically just reflects the issue Iranian football and TM is having when it comes to quality midfield players . At least SS are stronger in that regard with noorafkan, djebarov, shojaeian. I think PP need to get somebody like abdollahzadeh. Resan has to start as well as he is the most quality offensive mid they have.
I agree, but Persepolis can't get any new players for another year. However, I think branko can move Ahmadzadeh in place of Rabeekhah as a DM, and use Bashar as OM (Farshad's current position). Ahmadzadeh is a feisty player that I think can play DM just fine, and he will be far more effective running the play than Rabeekhah. I am not sure what else Persepolis can do to improve the midfield given the transfer ban. this is what we have until mid-season break next IPL league.

How PP lost to Al Sadd is a different story. I didn't watch the entire match.
You just admitted that you saw 5 minutes of the matches and still you judge based on an own goal and the number of cards that it wasn't a comfortable win?! No game against one of the best Asian sides is going to be totally comfortable or easy, but based on the gameplay today you could say Esteghlal was quite comfortable today and totally deserved the victory! Rarely seen any Asian side playing so comfortably against Al Hilal before and that not even in our own stadium. Let alone if the game was in Azadi...

Just read through the comments in this thread and you'll see how Esteghlal was all over Al Hilal and didn't allow them to get into their usual game!

I'm a great critique of my team when we underperform, but today credit has to be given. I'm only upset we didn't win by a bigger margin, which was very well possible today.

From all of this what worries the most is Beiranvand shittty ass goal keeping.....God help us in the World Cup against Ronaldo...we have a big problem and That’s our goal keepers ...I think I still rather give it to Alireza H. Since he has faster reflexes then all of them it seems like

          Friends

I think we need to all realize that like last year, Perspolis even being the best team in Iran, will not go past the AFC semifinals this year at best.

This is reality we need to face, Perspolis doesnt have the money or proper managemnet to compete at those highest levels.

Those Qatari , Saudi , chinese ,Korean and Japanese football clubs are better than what our very best can offer.

I hate to say this because i love Perspolis and I even have its logo Tattooed on my Biycep.

When you sat your only creative play maker, Musalman, on the bench and use two DMs in a match that you should attack, then this will happen. If PP wanted to defend the whole match, having two DMs was a good idea.

I am watching the match now and PP defenders are not doing their jobs. Players like Ahmadzadeh are killing the offense. This means basically a messed up line up. You either go for defensive play and counter attacks, or use a creative MF to feed the forwards for an offensive play. PP wanted to use an offensive plan by utilizing two DMs instead of a CM play maker and our defensive line was out of place. Useless wingers like Ahmadzadeh would ruin offensive plans. Basically nothing was right in this match.

              1. Defenders didn't hold their line to cover GK. Whenever Al Sadd went on counter attack, PP defenders were coming back or couldn't cover left, right or center of the defense.

              2. Using two DMs and no CM or creative player makers means reducing the fire power and only good when you have a defensive plan. (When defenders run to opposite half to score goal and can not come back to cover their area on time, literary means there is no defensive plan). As a result, having 2 DMs is a stupid idea. I do blame Branko on this one.

              3. When your winger does not play well and wastes opportunities one after another that means he is out of shape or focus. Take him out. Ahmadzadeh should have been subbed off at least around min 60.

              4. If you have an offensive plan bring AMF not DMs and feed the FWs from center and flanks by fast wingers. If the wings are blocked, find your way from center or work on set pieces and FKs, or corners.

              5. Use a creative plan, If you use the same game plan over and over again, a decent coach can find the flaws by simply analyzing the previous matches when your team had struggled and use the same tactics to cancel your advantages. Al Sadd manager did his homework and outsmarted Branko. This is what I blame Branko again.

Overall It was frustrating watching PP losing the match this way. We lost to our stupid game plan and a couple of frustrating players who should have been subbed in second half. Branko usually has one good game plan and if it does not work he will be useless. Unfortunately, his game plan was not even good today. It seems he was confused to defend or attack.

Good for SS. At least they won the match and showed Saudi football federation, they should be ashamed.

Plus point from today PP match:

I wish PP could play better but it is still ok, because we can see the flaw on our team now and hopefully fix them in upcoming matches as well as being careful picking players from PP for our NT. I don't want to see Ahmadzadeh, Shoja, and Kamyabinia in our NT. Beiro needs to be on the bench as well. My first choice is Hosseini.

Barely, with all due respect it’s only the start of the tournament and we’re already shaking, if we want to be serious contenders we need to improve and get team sheets/subs right

Stats don't mean much, especially when one team is leading and the other team is attacking and looking for a goal. Naturally the team being behind will f.e. have more ball possession etc.

Also what do you mean with they lost their gk?! It's not as if they just took him out to do us a favor lol
He grabbed the ball outside of the box when Shojaeian could have scored, so it was deserved. Had he not done that, Shojaiean could have scored.

^ That's pretty f... up. Taremi is a talented player but unfortunately his brain works just like Payam Sadeghian. Payam was wasted on his wrong attitude and Taremi on his wrong choices.

A game to forget. Nothing worked at all. But still no reason to panic. Hope we can make up this loss by winning the next 2 league games.

Branko's game plan is a surprise bag, especially in ACL games. It works wonderfully or fails terribly. The subs today were very strange to say the least.

And the fact that Mosalman hasn't played a single minute in the last 4 games is suspicious. I would predict that something has happened inside the team.

Fortunately for PP, they are in an easier where as SS is in the group of death. If we manage to get SS, PP, and ZA all to the R16 then thats a win for Iran.
SS also doesn't play their first true home game until matchday 4.
Tractor at this point are a forgotten even tho they played pretty good yesterday. I think if they give their manager time to build a team, they should be good next year.

Going forward, we all want iranian teams to win..
Also, sucks that SS and PP played at the exact same times

the result of the game is something to forget about, but the game itself, no.
this is a game to remember, to watch over and over again with the hopes of learning from it.

Perspolis is not going to win in Asia with Mosalman. Mohsen is a decent player for IPL level, not international. he is a one trick pony who doesn't play defense, and gives up on a play as soon as he loses the ball.
