Do you guys remember who was the best Argentine player in the 90 minutes against us? It was Rojo, he kept coming at us and confusing our defenders again and again.
I think CQ's compact and disciplined Iran would stifle the midfielders and attackers of Spain, Portugal and Morocco but we just don't have the additional resources to deal with overlapping full-backs.
That's why Jordi Alba, who already provides a completely different option for Spain, could absolutely destroy us if we somehow manage to hold out Iniesta, Isco, Assencio etc....
Mendyl for Morocco and Pereira from Portugal might do the same...
I really dislike Rojo. He's also very good in the air on corner kicks and free kicks, but he's notorious for pushing his man right as the cross comes in and hardly he ever gets called for it. I remember him doing that to Iran many times and never was a whistle blown for one of his pushes...
they play uzbekistan in uruguay. why should Iran fly to uruguay, and than come late for russia and time difference and so on....
btw sanctions, nobody wants to play us, everything, you know the situation of iran. and it makes no sense fly across the world just for one friendly with uruguay, a team which we can also face in knockout stage..
what is hard for me to understand is that uzbekistan fly all the way for this friendly...but great experience indeed for them
Remember when GN took TM to play Mexico in Mexico !!! It took them 25 hours to get there to lose 3-0! What an idiot!!

I did not know about that till now, way back in 2007, after we played them in 06, watching the highlights what a disaster that was https://youtu.be/_3IsNU3R8Js
Since the year 2000, we have played and lost 3 times against Mexico. 2-1 in the year 2000, 3-1 in the 06 world cup, and 4-0 in 07. But in the first 2 games, things could have gone in our favor had luck been on our site.
Actually for most of the top teams on that list, the stats are inflated by meaningless games...
E.g. since 2015 (when that article by the Hindustan Times looked at games), we've had matches such as Iran 6-0 Kyrgyzstan, Iran 4-0 India and Iran 6-0 Guam and then an away game of Guam 0-6 Iran...
If you look at matches since mid-2016 (exactly 2 years ago), then Iran's stats would be much more realistic, and also so would some of the other countries at the top of that list e.g. Japan would be knocked down from not having matches like Japan 3-0 cambodia, Afghanistan 0-6 Japan and Japan 5-0 Afghanistan affecting it's averages.
whilst England's defensive stats would improve too...
So I don't think you should give too much credence to that Hindustan Times article. It seems like bad research where they just copied and pasted everything into excel without actually looking into context of games.
Just by looking at all these pics and by seeing Ramin's IG, I can tell he is the biggest douche on the team. He is one of those guys that has to stand in a way or flex his arms to look like a badass or something. No wonder many people in Perspolis and TM are sort of distant from him.
True.
He dated a friend of my cousin.
Belgian girl, she isbreallyy into looks and acts like a diva. But even she thought Ramin was waaay to vain and ehocentric.
