To me, even a less talented player can leave his mark in history and be SIGNIFICANT.

I hope you didnt mean "talented or ...".
No I precisely meant someone who leaves a mark and is notable and remembered (for the right reasons).

a poll and question like this with leaving Ali Daei out ......

i am pretty sure you do this on purpose.
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

Fair point - which is exactly why I voted for pious. But can you tell me what significance abdol ali changiz or karim bavi had? I’m actually curious bc I had never even heard of these two and I couldn’t find very much on them.

Why do you think he should be included on this poll?

Regarding Bavi while he was already part of TM but he really became the beginning and end of our offense for a few years following the resignation of our 14 players. You can read about him here where I had previously posted about him. He was deadly in the air but lost his spot after Parvin became TM coach and insisted on flooding it with Persepolis players or has-beens (or both).

Changiz, along with Mohammadkhani and Alidoosti were our main offensive weapons prior to the resignation. He wasn't as lethal as the other two but he had incredible speed with the ball. I liken his presence with the other two to MSN or BRB although obviously on a smaller scale.

It's good to see one of PFDC's younger members participating in this poll with his obvious vote.

Farshad Pious did not get to play to good because Iran was in war that time, if it was not Pious could have had more games then goals. To me sometimes if he did not play he still somehow scored

keywords you are missing from the initial post:

                    "...pre Melbourne years"

Daie was around prior to 1997 obviously but I guess his post Melbourne years are what he is really known for.

How can you have this conversation without the most productive Iranian forward of all time, the former Bayern Munich man, Ali Daei? Is this even a real thread or just spam that should be closed?!

Daei was moving to Germany at that time. Tough to leave him out, but strange poll as this is, that makes sense I guess.
