AFC really fucked up. This tournament is so weak.

The toughest team that we could be grouped with is China, Oman, Jordan.

Also, now even 3rd place has a chance to qualify to the next round. So basically we have 4 practice games before we start our real games in the quarter finals...

In order for smaller countries to progress and move forward, this needs to happen. I agree the next few tournaments will be weak, but eventually in the long run we will see the benefits.

Very good point, and they deserve it too.

Take Kyrgyzstan for example. Previously a hopeless side, but the motivation and the chance given to qualify has prompted them to improve so much that they only lose 1-2 to Australia in Bishkek and BEAT Jordan 1-0.

I'm hoping this will lift the level of Asian football in the long-run and makes it more level-playing as it's become in Europe. In Europe, San Marino/Andora/Gibraltar and Lichtenstein apart, you barely see cricket scores anymore. Even likes of Luxambourg, Cyprus, Faroe Islands are now getting great results at times. Hope we see the same in Asoa

Sorry, you make no sense. That is why there are qualifiers.

You want progress? Invest in grassroots development and youth soccer. With the shit load of money AFC has, they should invest it in stadiums and programs, not a fake invite into the Asian Cup to give them false hope that they are somehow better/progressing.

If AFC or FIFA really cared they would hire some European referees to handle AFC games and not biased pro sheikhdom buyable men. It is all about money and the reason is more teams more people coming to watch from more countries and more TV rights to increase the revenue. They want 3 billion more fans to be there so they can buy tickets and gifts and other junk. One question that lingers in my mind is how an Iranian in view of saudi crimes against yemenis and syrians feels comfortable to get 5000 toman per dollar and goes to saudi arabia for haj>>> it is a puzzle how they feel ok to give money to saudis so the saudis can kill more people. I never forget disappearance of 400 irani women in one haj. Gheirat ham chize khoobi ast. they can go to haj after kingdome saudi beh jahannam beravad bedaste khode saudihaa

Blame IR for letting these people go. Just like we boycott, divest and sanction Israel, we should do the exact same thing for Saudi Arabia!

I stayed at the Armani hotel in 2011, very cold interiors and everything was grey! hated it! Hopefully it would be a better place for TMs draw to get easier opponents ( not that we are scared of anyone in Asia!)
