Although Iran remained 33rd overall and 1st in AFC (no change in position since last month), it's interesting that using the points predictions calculator on the FIFA website, even if Iran beats Algeria and Tunisia in the friendlies, we'll still lose a few points in next months' ranking and likely drop a couple of spots. Friendlies are worth very little and actually bring down your overall average (if you've done well in major competitions). That's why Poland is doing so well, they basically avoided friendlies prior to the WC draw to artificially inflate their ranking. Having said that, I'm all for quality friendlies.

It's "lose" btw... not "loose".
But anyways this is a flaw in FIFA's point system if our ranking goes down. Still first let's see if we even win those games before seeing if our ranking drops -

You're partially correct. Yes, you gain points for each win/draw based on your opponent's FIFA ranking, but your matches are all averaged and if you play too many friendlies (and not enough tournament/competitive games which get more weight in the points/ranking scheme), then you will on average lose points. This is why Iran will definitely lose points in the next FIFA ranking in April, even if it beats Seirra Leone, Tunisia, and Algeria. If you need proof, use the points calculator for Iran on Fifa's website. This has been a topic that has been discussed in detail in the sports press since the WC draw, particularly in regards to Poland's super high ranking before the WC draw.
