Although Iran remained 33rd overall and 1st in AFC (no change in position since last month), it's interesting that using the points predictions calculator on the FIFA website, even if Iran beats Algeria and Tunisia in the friendlies, we'll still lose a few points in next months' ranking and likely drop a couple of spots. Friendlies are worth very little and actually bring down your overall average (if you've done well in major competitions). That's why Poland is doing so well, they basically avoided friendlies prior to the WC draw to artificially inflate their ranking. Having said that, I'm all for quality friendlies.

you can not lose points in friendlies by avoiding them...
