    Not reading much into this.
It was basically Iran b team vs Tunisia a team

    Peru also beat croatia 2-0
    Colombia beat france 3-2

Does that mean peru is better than croatia
    Or colombia better than france?

Apparently they were also missing a few starters as well, but no where near as much as us.

Wow. Going back to this thread makes me laugh

I merely predicted a 2-0 loss , in a prediction thread. And I was subject to personal Attack by the delusional members here

Forget the fact that we actually lost the game, after all it’s just a friendly

But it seems that it is unacceptable to predict a loss for Iran in PFDC. Lol. Then what’s the point of a prediction thread?

Are we here to jerk each other off?

FIFA rankings are not a good indicator. Peru is ranked 11th, are they really the 11th best team in the world? Better than the likes of Croatia and Mexico? not a chance.

If you ask Africans to rank the African teams that made it to the world cup, most of them would put Tunisia last or second last- and certainly not the best African nation. Morocco and Nigeria especially are comfortably stronger.

Maybe "by far" the weakest is a stretch, but they definitely are one of the weaker teams of Africa to qualify.
peru beat croatia tonight, btw 2:0.

And on the 8.Day God created Ali Karimi, and he saw he was good!
If Defenders were allowed to use their hands to stop Karimi

CQ gives most players a chance to show themselves for the WC Rooster. not yesterday, and not coming friendly you will se our first 11 or first 14 players, it will be mixed again. this time for sure ghafouri will get the chance to play, also i think ghoddos will play from begining.

You could notice one important scene to know if this is a experimental match or not. beiranvand did not throw his long balls. we all know how far he can throw, but he did not it (too often; too long) and seems he does not want or was explained not to do it "now"...

All in all, it was not a very bad game, i am sure if it was a official match, with both teams fielding their best 11, we could even win that...

the only thing which is important, morrocco is more physical than tunesia...we should know this.

We need to start playing football...I don't care if we lose ...I am tired of this defensive tactics ..
If you look at our history Everytime we played attacking football we have got better results
That is how our football is naturally

                Just saw the game.

                My take:

                Positives

                * Very smart by CQ not to play our whole staring lineup, to prevent revealing us too much for the Moroccans. At the same time he tried some others so they could show themselves.

                * Cheshmi is very very promising as a back up to Hosseini and Pouraliganji. I would like to see the partnership of the latter with Cheshmi.

                * Milad Mohammadi, despite being at the wrong place and the wrong time right before the goal, was still our best player!

                Negatves:

                * Ali Karimi is a liability.

                * The goal scored was directly Montazeri's fault who couldn't clear the ball at first.

                * Omid Ebrahimi is too inconsistent. I'm actually getting worried about this position with Ezatollahi gone against Morocco.

                * Beyranvand had a few very good saves. He needs to get rid of his stupid risky play (dribbling the opponent players). In the WC, against CRs and Iniestas, he wont be that lucky.

                * Our domestic league players, with the exception of a few, are still very amateurish.

                * At some point (specially in the first half), we had returned to Ali Asghari style, sending long balls and hoping for someone to catch it and score a goal.

                Further observations:

                * Once again for the nth time, we saw how important the presence of Hosseini is in this team!

                * Fantastic and cool work by the Maroccan's number 10 before the goal. If Azmoun did those dribbles, we'd all be up in the air, calling him a world class player by now.

                * I'm very glad Shojaei was allowed back. Now if he's left out of TM again, I would have a clear consciience but not complain.

Fifa ranking does not reflect the true level of the national teams.
For instance, Nigeria (52th) beat poland (6th) yesterday.

If you take a look at tunisia squad, you won't find any world class player, unlike the 4 other teams.

Tunisia is a good team, but by no means the best in Africa.

It seems that ARJ's great form in the Eredivisie is starting to translate to Team Melli games - we have seen it yesterday (he made a lot of impact coming on) and he was our best player vs. Venezuela. He is starting to have the "IT" factor - where he feels he is the best player on any pitch.

                    *knock on wood*

I didn't want to create a new thread so I ask my question here.

Do you give CQ a passing grade for our previous match vs Tunisia? Please explain.

                          My answer is:

I think CQ made a bad line up. He should have used more key players instead of bunch of no names like Khanzadeh or Cheshmi in CB and Ansarifard out of his position. I think Alipour could help us in this match.

                          Lesson learned:
                          1. Pejman is gone
                          2. Torabi needs more matches to boost his confidence and readiness.
                          3. Omid is not reliable in DM
                          4. Vouria is better than Rezaian.
                          5. Beiro can be reliable if he want to play good.

                          Lesson we knew:
                          1. Cheshmi is not good as CB
                          2. Ansarifard is not good in RW

Khazri needs to watch out, one punch from Beiranvand and he may never see football again

huh? How did you know that? I thought Cheshmi has shown he can be a very reliable replacement for either Hosseini or Pouraliganji when needed.
