Matter of fact is, I think the game today was more experimental for CQ, he put in a few players that surprised us all. When we have our strongest team in, todays game will be a different story. Please stop overreacting, we cannot win every game we play.
You're right, you can't read too much into friendlies in general especially one where the pitch and referee were awful with nothing close to the A team even playing. Just can't help being in a negative mood shortly after such a frustrating game while watching the strength of the other teams in the group. By tomorrow i'll be back to daydreaming again about last minute Seyed Jalal winner against Spain or something.

France, the most stacked national team in the world, also lost to Colombia at home. Does that mean France has no chance of winning the World Cup now?
Exactly. I can't agree with you more. Friendlies are not a good indicator at all. Also I watched France Columbia match. It was all France. France played really good but couldn't score due to playing mostvof its reserves.

I know lol. I remember last world Cup when we entered the cup everyone was saying Iran will lose to Nigeria 3-0 and Argentina 6-0. But we see how good we played. And now honestly I look at today's game against the best of Africa on an away game; we played a very good attacking style with our reserves and even though They had Khezri, ben Anam, Sassi and the other red hair guy; we were the better side. And if it was a sunny day and a good ref; I wouldn't be surprised if we even won on their soil. I like the character of our team. Our subs are not too much a quality behind our main team. I rememnerast world Cup if we didn't have our players we could lose even to likes of Oman 3-0 in friendlies. We have lots of starts know but the challenge is who to start with and the right formation. I think by the time we get to the game with Turkey; we will have a solid idea .. thanks

What's your proof bro? They are 23 in Fifa ranking!!! How can they be the worst? Because we were superior to them ? It doesn't make them worst; we have a good team

They had the easiest qualification group and they still went down to the wire to get into the world cup. Their defence is also comfortably weaker than the other african teams.

FIFA rankings are not a good indicator. Peru is ranked 11th, are they really the 11th best team in the world? Better than the likes of Croatia and Mexico? not a chance.

If you ask Africans to rank the African teams that made it to the world cup, most of them would put Tunisia last or second last- and certainly not the best African nation. Morocco and Nigeria especially are comfortably stronger.

Maybe "by far" the weakest is a stretch, but they definitely are one of the weaker teams of Africa to qualify.

It’s better to play in a European neutral ground, although i wish they could come to us US so I could go watch

Ok. Wait. We lost today a friendly game 1:0 by an own goal in the opponents own turf.

-While Taremi, Dejagah, Azmoun, Pouraliganji, SJ Hosseini & Ezatolahi didn't play at all.
              -While we had 6 substitutes.
-While two of the substitutes were core players like Ghoddos & Jahanbakhsh.

Sorry guys. I call that a very experimental lineup to gave some players a chance to show themselfs. Nothing more. Hey thats what we wanted!! A game where we can test those guys!

all this is true and should be noted, however I think many including me feel like the game for that was the sierra leone game, and wanted to see the main 15 players play against tunisia and algeria. We know khanzadeh for example wont play a minute at the WC if we intend on making it out of the group. Seeing CQ go with such an experimental and shitty lineup was annoying.
The things we can takeaway from this match that we didnt know for sure : Hajsafi was fairly solid and should start all matches in WC at CDM, beiranvand was great - he is our number 1. Haters please show some respect, or at least acknowledge his good performance. Rezaeian looked suspect ( he is the master of hospital passes, he gives passes to the middle of the field when the player has a man on him or is moving away from the space, its bc he is hol and partially retarded), karimi and ebrahimi were both shit - bc they are generally shitty, slightly above iranian average players. Karimi is more suited to slow style, low press, such as eastern european teams. He did quite well vs a solid montenegro team, pretty good for a few months in croatia as well, but as soon as pace goes up he is totally garbage on and off the ball. Ebrahimi out of the two should start vs morocco next to hajsafi simply because he is more mobile.
Also Karim was okay in not his best position, gucci showed why if any forward shouldnt make the squad its him ( he cant do anything without service), rezaei was fairly good, torabi looked very bright when he came on and almost scored.
lastly, we need dejagah. whoever thinks otherwise clearly doesnt understand TM or football in general. We are a different team with and without this guy and it showed again. Masoud was okay but nothing to write home about.
Next game vs Algeria we NEED TO SEE :
                ------------------Beiranvand-------------------
                --Vouria----Hosseini-------PAG------Milad
                ---------------Ezatolahi--------Hajsafi
                ARJ----------------Ghoddos-------------Taremi
                ------------------Azmoun------------
Subs should be ebrahimi for ezatolahi, Torabi for Taremi, Gucci for sardar.

We need to stop experimenting from now on. We need to start playing the backups and the starters for every game.. If someone is injured we need the back up to play...we eed to kick some of the IPL players out now....its getting too late to experiment line ups

                    - The game sucked in terms of pitch and weather conditions ... makes the game very sloppy especially for our home base teams who don't play in the rain
                    - We did not need to play our number 1s today - as many teams didn't ... especially with those conditions
                    - BV solid in goal
                    - Our defense from MM was solid ... sucked that he had a hand in the final result but otherwise he was all over the pitch
                    - Ramin was not as bad; he should have been subbed after 2nd half with Vouria
                    - Our forward is actually a problem in my opinion ... with Sardar not match fit, I actually think Karim is our best option - he is active, can assist and gets penalties

I would be your opinion if the above players weren't injured. If i was CQ, i would have been in a dilemma for todays game. I would have done the same. Testing those players and look for a pooladi wonder.

Additionally, Algerian players have class. Plus we are playing in Europe with better fields with better players. So Algeria is the ultimate test for us, they are stronger than Tunisia without a doubt.

I think CQ does not want other teams (WC) know his real line-ups and tactics before world cup, specially if it is not played behind "close doors". You guys should know him by now

                            Comment

People apparently haven't noticed that in all these years when we had 2 friendlies the first one cq always experimented and gave youngsters more international experience. And the 2nd match he would use a more realistic lineup more close to the final line up. You people should know it by now. I'm not worried even 1 bit.

True. But do you risk your main players on such a pitch? Really?!! If I were a coach I would play my subs just in case. I think we see our main ones starting Algeria game.
