Haghighi is not in the match squad for the next league game despite the first keeper having a weak showing in the last game. Swedish media is reporting that this is due to him getting pissed off with the coach and leaving the practice when he found out that he would not start. It is reported that the club may terminate his contract (which would expire by the end of May in any case).

This guy creates trouble everywhere he goes. He’s simply not a professional. Doubt he will continue his career at this point.

He was without club for almost more than a year. Always had some short stints too, these are not good signs for a GK of his age.

Yes he was without a club for some time....because similarly to Ashkan he was very arrogant and chose to decline opportunities to play in lower tier leagues in Europe an in PGL not because nobody wanted him. Thank god those days are gone that was some of the dumbest sh!t o have ever seen

Some more details from local media regarding Alireza vs GIF coach:

"The contract with the goalkeeper is broken - after joining GIF Sundsvall coach

First, GIF Sundsvall's goalkeeper Ali Haghighi was hired - now comes details that mean his time in the club is over. This is after he has coincided with coach Joel Cedergren.
"We will figure this out after the match against Brommapojkarna," says GIF sports director Urban Hagblom to Expressen.

When GIF Sundsvall coach Joel Cedergren presented the squad before Saturday's meeting with Brommapojkarna, goalkeeper Ali Haghighi was not included.

[+] The national team goalkeeper is taken out of the squad for the match against BP - Cedergren darkens the decision: "We'll take it after the match"

But neither Cedergren nor club sports director Urban Hagblom wanted to explain any details why the goalkeeper was petting.

[+] The sports manager about the petade GIF goalkeeper: "Are personal reasons"

According to Expressen , the Iranian national team goalkeeper has been joining Joel Cedergren and, according to information on the evening, his contract appears to be breaking prematurely.

In addition, parts of the gamer group have been informed that Haghighi has probably made his way to the club.

"We will figure this out after the match against Brommapojkarna," says Hagblom to Expressen, and continues:

"We have all the understanding that you are disappointed as a player, but then you have to handle it properly. You have to be professional.

On the question from the Expressen about Alireza Haghighi will play more in GIF Sundsvall, Hagblom answers:

                      - Yes, that's our hope. We have an agreement with him until the end of May and there are three rounds left. But it is a dialogue we will bring with all due respect from both parties."

I think they must have promised him the starting position, otherwise he wouldn't have signed ahead of WC. Now that they don't even use him despite the other goalie messing up, I can understand he's pissed of and wants to join TM rather than warming the bench there, even if it's unprofessional.

This whole "club less curse" that Alireza has is getting ridiculous.

you can blame One club, two club, 3 club but if this shitt keeps happening to this guy again and again again then the biggest issue must certainly be with him..!?

back to IPL or Arab leagues next i'd guess ? you'd think no other EU club would ever bother to even entertain the thought of attaining his services again..!?

More insight into what happened with Haghighi @ Sundsvall. Haghighi claims the Manager lied to him as he was under the impression he would be given playing time. He had other offers at better clubs as 2nd choice but selected GIF in order to play and get a chance to play at the WC:

"World Cup goalkeeper: "Sundsvall has lied to me"

Iranian national team goalkeeper Alireza Haghighi has had a minimum of playing time since signing in for Sundsvall. The cup should have passed to the goalkeeper when he did not get the playing time he expected. He then ended up in a discussion with coach Joel Cedergren. The club has confirmed that the collaboration is broken.

"The coach has just lied to me," said Alireza Haghighi exclusively to SVT Sport.

Land defender Alireza Haghighi, who has now left the all-Swedish club Sundsvall, does not believe that the motive is motivated on sports grounds.

"People in Allsvenskan know me from last season with AFC Eskilstuna. My first three games were still partially injured, but maybe my best matches did. They knew what kind of goalkeeper they bought when they took me, they were aware that I needed a playtime to join the World Cup squad, but I have not had the opportunity to show me, "he told SVT Sport.

The coach Joel Cedergren is of a different opinion.

"He has been disappointed in a couple of rounds when he has not been allowed to play. Now lately, there was a discussion where he said he could not believe he should not play. I never promise players playing time, "said Cedergren to SVT Sport.

With regular goalkeeper Tommy Naurin long-term injury, defeat-tiped Sundsvall chose to write a short-term contract with Haghighi during the transfer window's last day.

                                "I was promised playing time"
In Sundsvall, young William Eskelinen has got the chance instead, something that amazes Haghighi. According to the goalkeeper, the agreement with Sundsvall has been that he would play for a better chance of playing the World Cup for Iran.

                                - I was promised playing time. Why would I write a short-term contract with Sundsvall otherwise? There were other clubs in better league with better economics who also offered the position as reserve goalkeeper. I chose Sundsvall only to get playing time, he says.

Cedergren believes that the choice of first goalkeeper has been logical.

"Haghighi has not played because Eskelinen has been so good. 21-year-old has been the better goalkeeper.

Haghighi says he is disappointed in not having clear and clear message about playing time.

"I had several conversations with Cedergren and discussed my situation and why I was praised. He never gave any straight answers. Now his only answer was that I arrived late at the club. The bonus they would receive from FIFA because they have a World Cup player had certainly come in handy for them, "said Haghighi.

                                The handshake
Although the relationship has become increasingly tense between the goalkeeper and the coach, one seems to have been divorced in a professional manner.

"He comes out of the locker room and continues the discussion saying that he does not think there is any idea he is here. Then I say that I also do not think there is any idea that he is here if he does not manage his role. Then we shook hands and he left. Since then we have not talked.

Haghighi's view of the situation is similar.

"It was a conversation between me, Joel and the two assistant coaches. I did not leave in anger as it has been written. We were divorced with a handshake, he says.

But the frustration is still clear at the 30-year-old former Sundsvall goalkeeper.

"Unfortunately, Joel and the management in Sundsvall have done nothing but lied to me. They have played with my future.

The coach Cedergren takes the lawsuits calmly and thinks it is not particularly dramatic.

"It's sad that he says I'm lying. He can not handle his situation. And I understand his disappointment that he does not come to the World Cup. But I do not promise players playing time. I do not work that way, "says Cedergren.

Alireza Haghighi is now clubblos - with 32 days to the World Cup it is not optimal conditions for the goalkeeper hoping to be taken to his national team."
