To have a chance of advancing in this group we have to really play against Morocco and take the game to them, and these friendlies are where we are training to not play park the bus. Overall the result doesn't matter so much, it was an away game in bad conditions, so I'm not pissed that we lost. However, we need more tuning on not sacrificing defensive shape for offense. Think atleti, that's the mold of the team we should be going for here. Iran's defense has been good not because of individuals, but more so tactics and shape. Too many situations where the wing backs were caught out today. Beiravand looked solid. Too many guys looked like passengers today. I think against algeria, who has more star power, we will have a better understanding of where we really are in terms of positive football.
