Soroush was not enough then and he is not enough now. I remember in the AC match agaisnt UAE, Nekounam was pushing Soroush forward to put pressure on the opposite defenders. We need guys, who can give 90min of Andranik type pressure on the feild. It is the only way to compete at the WC."History is a set of lies that people have agreed upon,"

He won’t cut Amiri. Amiri starts all the games where we need to press because of his work rate and stamina. Don’t be surprised if he starts at least one game in the World Cup on the left side in front of Taremi. Maybe the Spain game. Heydari was the same last World Cup because he had decent speed and stamina.

I've just whipped it up quickly and I thought I'd run it by you guys to see if there are some glaring errors or mistakes I made, or if there is something I missed. Note, this isn't the full preview, just the 23 man squad and the starting 11. You can find the full preview when it gets posted on the subreddit very soon.
Goalkeepers
Alireza Beiranvand
Rashid Mazaheri
Hossein Hosseini
Defenders
Vouria Ghafouri
Jalal Hosseini
Milad Mohammadi
Morteza Pouraliganji
Majid Hosseini
Pejman Montazeri
Aghaei
Ramin Rezaeian
Midfielders
Ehsan Hajsafi
Saeed Ezatollahi
Masoud Shojaei
Omid Ebrahimi
Vahid Amiri
Saman Ghoddos
Alireza Jahanbakhsh
Ashkan Dejagah
Forwards
Karim Ansarifard
Mehdi Taremi
Reza Ghoochannejad*
Sardar Azmoun
Note: Kaveh Rezaei may be picked over ghoochannejad but unlikely given the particularl preference Quieroz has for the latter.
Here, I am not sure about Aghaei
Potential Starting 11:
Beirandvand
Ghafoori Pouraliganji Hosseini Mohammadi
Hajsafi Karimi/Ezatollahi
Alireza Dejagah Ghoddos
Azmoun
Important Note: Ezatollahi is the starter for the national team, but he is suspended for the first match due to a red card in a qualification match. He will miss the first game but will start against Portugal/Spain.
Thanks guys. This is not necessarily the lineups or selections that I want, but they are what I believe Quieroz will pick. I will consider the varying opinions you guys might have (such as Rezaeian over Ghafoori), but i'm mainly interested in glaring errors i've made, such as an injury that I am not aware of or a clear indication that one or more of those players will not be there.
who would partner Hsafi in MF is still up in the air ?
Taremi seem to have a far better chance of starting games than Ghoddos and very likely to feature Many minutes.
and off course Dejagha will be coming off a 5-6 month serious injury layoff and unlikely to be a starter or a full time participant in any of our games ..!?
Ramin may well share equal minutes with Ghafoori at RWBack
id also guess that Ansarifard will get plenty of minutes? but probably more as winger/2ndary striker ?
Amiri is also very likely to feature heavily but i think his limited pedigree will get badly exposed after his likely start vs Morroco then he will be nailed to the bench for the remaining 2 games.

Amiri lacks even 50 percent of Heydari's poise and game intelligence on the ball... but he is certainly a bigger physical presence and his stamina and work-rate beats that of Haydari and off course he is the Only natural Left Footed winger we got ..! he looked damn promising during the last AC, but his game has seemingly badly regressed since ..! what i really liked about him was his insane Confidence he used to display on the pitch in taking on anyone he faced defending him and going right @ them not giving a fk who they were...! remember his mad dashes up the left wing vs Sweden !!?
i think he either he now feels too secure of his likely position in the CQ starting line-up ?? or by now, it has become a bit more clear to him that his weak overall Pedigree and Ceiling as an frequent International starter...?? either case his admirable Confident game approaches simply arent there and he isnt pushing himself and pressing the opponents with as much vigor and authority as he used to in his first features for TM..!
