Should Andranik Teymourian be called up again as an answer to our DM problem?

I voted yes just because I don't have the heart to vote against Ando. Seeing him in a third WC as captain would probably bring me to tears. But putting nostalgia aside, it's all about fitness. And the fact that he hasn't been called up in two years is very telling. CQ loves him. So if he isn't getting called up, there's probably a very good reason for it.

Edit: I'd love to see him on the sideline at the WC at least as part of the staff.

Ando’s quality can never be questioned - even at an older age he never lost his touch, toughness, ability to read the opposition, and everything else that made him great. The only thing that has been a question is his fitness level which was on a constant decline over the last few years. If I’m CQ I’m calling back Ando and making sure he goes on the most strict diet of his life these next few months, give him some occasional 1 on 1 sessions with TM’s fitness coach, and do everything to get him back into match form. The DM spot is arguably one of the most important on the pitch and we were spoiled for so long with the nekounam-ando duo and we are realizing more and more how hard it is to replace them. Nobody has even come a little close to filling their shoes and I think for the WC we need to field our players that give us the best chance to advance from the group and I’d take an in-shape ando over any DM even at an old age. Experience will go a long way in these matches we have and nobody fights on the pitch like Ando.

I think Ezzi at 21 is doing as good of a job as Ando was doing back then... with the exception of his shot!

He was outstanding for us in 2015 too.
Right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must.

Especially his set-pieces that was big part of our attacking plan. Since the absence of Ando our set-pieces have never been the same.

We already got a few visionary, ball-distributing, passing-lane-closer, rico-suave DMs in TM, what we really missing in our current MF set-up is that Brusingly physical, Pit-bullish tackler/headhunter, midfied destroyer ...!
No one played that Role better than Ando in his prime in TM, probably Ever ..!??

This huge Void in our MF has become far more evident since Ashkan’s injury absence...!

Is there any other iranian such player that CQ hasn’t yet tried in TM ..!?

I ultimately defer to CQ, but I would take Ando.

Once again, a lot can change in 3 years when it comes to football especially when you hit the wrong side of 30.

Ashkan who was maybe at his peak 3 years ago at Fulham is now undergoing the same thing.

Agreed, I was just pointing out that he didn't stop playing for us in 2014 (as you suggested in your post).

It'd be interesting to test him in a friendly to see his current level.

He was one of the best Asian midfielders back in his Bolton days, man those were wonderful times to see a legionnaire shine for a Premier League team. Ando was highly respected by English fans.
