No way in heck is Portugal a winnable match. If we play very, very well, and get extremely lucky, maybe, just maybe, we can draw them. But we'll be big underdogs going in that match, as we should be.

Have you seen them play lately?

Every game is winnable. Even the Spain game...
The Spain game will be the Argentina game of 2018. If we play with enough passion and wear them down, anything is possible.
Yes, Spain is on fire right now... But did you see how they were predicted to win the WC in 2014 after a bunch of hot friendly performances? Ring a bell?
Lets take a look at what Spain did in their group stages in 2014:
First game? Lost 1-5 to Netherlands!
Second game? Lost to a team we beat 2-0 (chile)... Ironically by 2 goals as well! Thats 4 goals between us
We play smart and up to full potential, and we always have a chance, regardless the opponent.

Under Lopetegui, they're fantastic... extremely fast, extremely explosive and unpredictable and they haven's lost a single match under his tutelage since 2016 and that's against some serious opposition which included:
Belgium
Italy: 2 matches
England
France
Colombia
Germany
Argentina
That's 9 matches against the top 15 sides in the world without a loss! in-fact the only big name teams they haven't played are Brazil and Portugal. With this team, you blink and you're scored on... never mind making mistakes!
They're not just stacked with individual talent but they play as a cohesive unit and we definitely have our work cut-out against them. IMHO, it will be a fantastic achievement to get a point out of that match and our best result ever in the WC [considering the relative strengths of the teams].

Our outmost priority right now is to implement the special training which CQ demanded for the domestic players. If that is done I have no doubt we will be successful at WC, including the Spain game.
That is difference between a great coach and a mediocre one. Where as Branko kept quiet and took the team to the WC totally unprepared physically, CQ wants none of that and knows the team has to improve immensely to make it to the second round.

This Spain team is extraordinarily fantastic.
Much better than Argentina of 2014
Unfortunately Morocco has the perfect draw to qualify for the next round in front of Portugal : not only they play in St-Petersburg and Moscow (their fans are lucky) but they will play an already qualified Spain in their last game (certainly Spain B team).
