Taremi has been a vital part of our qualification campaign, and he scored again against Algeria. You must be smoking some of that good stuff

Rezaei is much more versatile than both Ansarifard and definitely Taromi.

I don't understand how anyone can watch Kaveh's hustle and ability to finish easy opportunities and say they rather have a slower, lazier, and less consistent Gucci and Karim on the team instead.
Kaveh is perfect for Iran's style of play. He's also a better player in every sense than both of them. The only plus side that Karim has is his heading ability.

This way, you want aerial power and energy? Azmoun
Experience & poaching instinct? RGN
versatility and pace? Rezaei
Must be nice living in Colorado lol

I think ppl need to WATCH ... no, OBSERVE, Taromi's game before commenting.
yes, he has his advantages, like his long strides and energy. (but we have that in Azmoun already, who's far far better than Taromi)
But to show his tendency to always flop and fall over at the slightest touch which many many refs discount (if not give yellow) is something many of you overlook or are not aware of.
example, in this very game he got a good through ball from midfield, attacking the box from our left side. The defender was trying to catch up with him, but would not have caught the ball .... HAD TAROMI STAYED ON HIS FEET, INSTEAD OF FALLING DOWN AT THE SLIGHTEST TOC BY THE DEFENDER. That would have put him in front of the defender and in 1 on 1 with the keeper.
BUT he chose to flop. And the ref, rightfully, signaled play-on.
This has happened many time whenever I watch him play.
And I'm sure it happens far more, for those who watch PP play too.
This points to LOW intelligence and lack of assessment of a situation. a 1 on 1 with the keeper, in his mind was not good while banking on tricking the ref with a dive made sense!!!!!!!
so intelect wise, he is right at the bottom of this list.
2- experience? He cant be as experienced as RGN
3- Natural instinct in poaching? again, he is nowhere close to RGN
4- versatility? nowhere close to Kaveh

Watch his assist against Russia and tell me flopped. He ran 70 yards with defenders on his back and played a perfect pass to azmoun. Taremi is so good at keeping the ball and using is body to
Protect the ball or take the foul. Also, he hustles so hard on defense. I will bet any amount of money that he will not only come to Russia but start. Taremi is a nuisance to opposition defense

MY fellow dental colleague . i normally enjoy your accurate assessments of iranian football and actually look forward to them..
IN this case i must disagree.. Taremi Physical presence combined with the fact that he has reasonable speed and most of all natural given fitness to run for 90 min (very rare in our football) makes him indispensable to our forward line. Azmoun does not possess the same attributes (his finishing is what make him indispensable as well).
Another Important point is the understanding that taremi and azmoun have developed in the past few years.....
one thing i will bet on, a healthy Taremi will start in WCWe thank and support Mr.Kamran Delan for many years of dedication and service to Iranian Football Community

But there is a reason why he is 2nd choice after Azmoun in his forward picks (in the support striker role), and that is the way he disrupts the opposition. He is a tricky player, whose very erratic nature can be an immense confusing agent for the other team.
When successful, these players are quite rare.
Think of how often Salah loses the ball, confuses the opposition and then picks it up again in an odd way, making the opposition completely unaware as to how to anticipate his next move. The rough-around-the-edges nature of Salah, if you watch him regularly, is precisely the root of his success. Completely unpredictable!
Or Thomas Müller - sometimes you never know how he is going to contort his limbs which makes it almost impossible for the opposition to predict how he will strike the ball. Different style but similar point I'm making.
Even if Taremi didn't have the good partnership with Sardar, I would expect him to travel to Russia. The fact that they link up well for critical moments mean that both of them are likely to start.
Why mess with a successful formula? They are few and far between for TM?
