All 24 participants confirmed for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup

All 24 participants confirmed for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup

    Important Notes:

    1. Competition will be held in the UAE and run from January 5th to February 1st of 2019

    2. Draw for the Group Stage will take place on May 4th

    3. With the expansion of 24 teams, the competition is now similar to the EUROS, with the top 2 teams from each group advancing from each group and the best 3rd place teams advancing as well to the knockouts.

Congratulations to the debutante countries: Philippines, Yemen, and Kyrgyzstan

Additionally, Lebanon to make their 1st appearance since 2000.

Credit to this Reddit user for the facts.

Hopefully Iran manages to win this, despite our unfortunate last Asian Cup.

Teams to look out for: Japan, South Korea, Australia, and Saudi Arabia

South Korea and Saudi aren't much of a threat tbh... that is if CQ remains

Shame that neither Tajikistan or Afghanistan made it this time around, it will be nice to see all three Iranic countries at an Asian cup.

The extra 8 teams in the tournament will weaken the tournament. The good news is that if we start slowly in the group stage we can build up into it.

Pots will be based off April ranking but as of now:

Easiest group: Iran, Kyrgyzstan, India, Phillippines

Toughest group: Iran, Syria, Uzbekistan, Jordan.

All Arabs qualified. Only Kuwait not there as there was a ban on their football teams from participating.
I don't like this new format. 16 teams tournament is ideal. 24 is too much too crowded and makes the tournament boring.
For world cup I hope it stays at 32 and not increase.

Iranians that could play for other teams in the Asian Cup:

                Daniel Arzani - Australia
                Misagh Bahadoran - Philippines
                Ahmad Moein Doozandeh - Qatar

                S - E - C - U - L - A - R - I - S - M

I thought Omid Nazari was trying to switch his football nationality to Philippines so he can play for their national team, so far he has not yet played for them. Any news?

It will be a very interesting Asian Cup and it won't really matter who we have to compete with in group stage.

Bring it on Asia .. Iran will be there to win it.

It'd be cool to see either Vietnam, Thailand or The Philippines make it to the Semi-finals along side Iran.

We need to win this one, last time around they screwed us and also in 2004

But if we do win we should send our u23 to the following tournaments
