but at the same time, i am realistic. I am just in it for the experience and proud of Iran being in the WC and do not expect Iran to qualify or even earn a single point. That's not pessimism.

when I encounter fans of other countries, I boast and exaggerate our team and players just like any other PFDC member. but among fellow Hamvatans, I am realistic and I know what to expect
haha this guy,,, i bet you were also one of those guys who tought iran would get run over by Nigeria and Argentina last world cup.. being realistic is something else than thinking and saying that the team wouldnt even get a single point. thats just stupid to say.

pas chera nemiri teame marakesh ro tashvigh koni? what are you doing here then?

Were you watching the Tunisia and Algeria games? because those two games showed that in it's current form, Iran would have a hard time getting a single point.

I don’t judge teams based on friendly games prior to tournaments. By that logic Argentina should not bother coming to WC after the 6-1 loss to Spain.

Realistically we have a 15 percent chance of advancing.

Would anyone be willing to help me out? Just need four questions answering and a Twitter username...

On topic, I think TM have a great chance of beating Morocco and if Portugal fail to perform then you have a great chance of getting a result... and that's from an Englishman (we know all about the difference between pessimism and optimism)

to TM players who read these comments. You know well that some of the comments about 0% or 10% mean nothing. If anyone is afraid of a mouse he will run when he sees one. He will never turn around to see a wolf that might be chasing him. To be a TM player you have to have the character of a lion or leopard. so you know only a frog is afraid of a mouse. So, never mind the guys who think we are not leopards.

Yes i saw the game! in tunisia game we had only 4 of A team or max 5. the rest were reserves. i dont know what you saw.. and ofcourse we all can agree on the topic that CQ is right that the players from ipl are going to be in trouble if they don't train with CQ to add strength and stamina.

but i don't think for a second that we will lose against morocco. so what they have ziyech.. we have jahanbakhsh. we have jalal hosseini.. pouraliganji.. milad mohammadi, azmoun, who do you need me to name anymore. we have shown in the past that we are a team capable of beating anyone. if you dont' believe me.. go back and watch Iran vs Argentina.

We are #1 in Asia for a good reason and trust me come game time CQ what to do in the world cup.

We need to believe more in our team. We can beat an inexperienced Morocco, and get 1 point against a one man show team like Portugal.
I watched the 1966 WC live and that N Korean team consisted of absolute nobodies. After defeating Italy they went on to score 3 goals against Portugal which had eliminated Brazil. It was only thanks to their superstar Eusebio which helped them overcome N Korea. That N Korean team were given the nick name Yellow Storm.

If we really have about a 10% chance of advancing, as some here have suggested, that Korean team had a 0.001% to do it.

It all will depend on the 1st game. If we do beat Morocco we still need to, at the least, draw with either Portugal or Spain. This is a tall order and surely we are the underdogs in the group.

In an even group every team has a 25% chance to advance. I reckon in this group Spain has a 40% chance to go through, Portugal at 30%, Iran & Morocco at 15% each. Either Iran or Morocco going through to the next round would be one of the major upsets of the WC
