It's a bit disheartening that transfer rumors for our European-based players have run a bit dry. Before the world cup, everyone was after Alireza, Azmoun, and Ghoddos. Now, I check twitter, and it's complete silence. We have been out of the World Cup over a week now, and this is not a good sign.

We are unfortunately not top priority for the top-4 league teams. They'd rather sign a European-born player with half of Jahanbakhsh's statistics this year.

I know some here hate this line of reasoning, and say "you can't blame everything on politics!", but I am starting to really believe that politics is playing some role in hampering our footballers' progress. Based on CQ's "These are just boys, let them play" comments, I'm beginning to feel like Greece/Kosovo/every other game cancellation is not because of IFF, but rather politically motivated.

Countries that have certain allies cannot play Iran, or choose to preemptively avoid us in order to stay in good favor with the international powers. I know it's a conspiracy theory, but with our players plying their trade in Russia, Turkey, Eastern Europe, etc. I see a correlation between the teams that will play friendlies with us, and our players' clubs.

I hope I am just over-analyzing, but it's really shameful that our guys get very little respect compared to European and South American players with half of Jahanbakhsh, Ghoddos, or Azmoun's talent or potential.

^Responding to my own post, I think I am overanalyzing. I just read in a dutch article that Alireza is on vacation and is almost assured to transfer to a better team upon his return.

I assume that this means that most of our players are likely having a couple weeks away from football to relax, and will return to complete their transfers.

Crossing my fingers that next week, we will have a wave of transfers to top-4 leagues.

Esteghlal picked up 3 CBs in their 20's a few days ago, maybe this is a sign that a move for Majid is in the works? Assuming that Padovani is leaving and including Cheshmi as a CB (he played more games at CB than he did in midfield last season), Esteghlal will have 6 CBs in total. A bit heavy no? Then again they currently have 4 LBs right now as well :/

There’s no way in hell Alireza doesn’t have offers and from good clubs from the top 4 Leagues in Europe.

I believe I saw Majid Hosseini re-signing with Esteghlal.
I wished he went to an European club though...

Edit - sorry my bad, it was an old picture. Now that I actually read the article it says that Hosseini has offers from Holland and Belgium and that it's unlikely that he will stay at Esteghlal.

God damn it! The man would tear up the Dutch league.

Guys I remember after our performance in 1998 spending almost 2 years excited about transfer rumours and in the most part it was disappointment after disappointment.

We don't have the agents or intermediatory companies to ensure that our players get the best transfers.

Besiktas and Fenerbache highly interested in Ansarifard. Would be good moves for him if stuttgart doesnt work out ( likely bc they cant afford to pay the 10 mil that Kos want). Fener will be in champions league next year, so that would present a great opportunity for Karim. Besiktas will be in EL. Fener also only have one striker who is 33! (Soldado), so I think hed definitely start there. Lets see what happens, maybe he will end up staying at kos.

Both would be a slight step up from olympiacos.....if bundesliga doesn’t work out, this is a solid alternative
                    Team Meli Iran
                    Perspolis FC
                    Malavan Bandar Anzali

Ansarifard is married/engaged to the daughter of a Greek billionaire. He is not going to Turkey.

congrats to him, a fantastic move. Even though I am not a fan of his play at all, I hope he does well.

ahmadzadeh will be number 10 at his new club. They finished 10th out of 16 teams last year.
