This is a friendly remember guys. We need more friendlies. Asian Games is not important but qualification to Olympics is.

Age excuse is just an excuse, it is our own choice to not play with our better players.
There is nothing to gain from disappointment and defeats.
They keep saying Oh but we are preparing this team for Olympic! , many of these players may not be in the Olympic squad next year.
Let's hope they play better on Sunday as 2 defeats won't be an inspiring and good start for Kranjcar

No, we don't. one reason to hire high caliber coach ( relative to Iranian Pairovani) is to have no such excuses.
1- Kranjcar is not a new coach in Iran, has been for years in Iran and very familiar with in & out of football in Iran.
2-Last year July 2017 IFF made a stupid decision during AFC U23 2017 championship games to send Iran U21 team. It was a wrong decision but the argument was the same Oh, but we are thinking of 2020 Olympic. Pairovani selected mixture of U20 & U21 players to play against U23 teams. They lost even to Oman (0-2) and failed to qualify from the group stage.

This time IFF & Estilee selected extended list before hiring Kranjcar . Since 2017 squad of U20+U21 were a year older ( now 21+ 22), They kept 1/2 of the squad ( 21 years) and invited more U20 players in the mix to be a new U21 team. There should not be a doubt tha this squad will not remain the same next year.

The idea of sending U21 players for games of U23 is not sound .

We are in the group with N Korea and Saudi Arabia. Unless changes are made albeit it's late there is a good chance they will lose to Saudi Arabia and that will be a disgrace and demoralizing. Failing in Asian games will be bad for this young squad and their Coach Kranjcar.
Too many defeats for the coach will bring back fate of Vingada.
Let's hope we beat Iraq on Sunday.

During 2017 AFC U23 games Tractorsazi did not release their players. Estilee again invited 3 players from that team and they never showed up in all 3 training camps. Estilee and Kranjcar should have replaced them not begging them to show up. they went to Iraq with an incomplete squad. Kranjcar is powerless and Estilee not smart, bad combination

Didn't we used to take 22-23 year olds and everyone complained that we should be taking 20-21 year olds because they will be prepped for Olympic Qualifiers? Those players we used to use were at an age that we wouldn't even be able to take them to the Olympics.. Am I missing something, or maybe remembering something wrong?

There are so many voices and differences of opinion in a situation like that but responsible Manager will take what is the best decision. I for one suggest and support using young players as much as possible during friendly tournaments but not in such a way that is hopeless and no chance of winning. I have never suggested or in favor of sending younger players for official games such as Asian games.

I am even critical of U16 teams when they use 14 years old players although they mostly play in friendly tournaments.

Among biggest qualities of CQ without any doubt is his discipline and organization, his control and consistency and that is not the only good quality he has. My issue with him is very different and I have been his critics for years and vocal within reasons.

Because in Iran there is no middle ground

D line was very shaky and disorganized in the 2nd half.

First half:
Gholami-Aghjanpour-Aghasi-Rahimi

Second half:

Abbasian-Aghajanpout-Aghasi-Drakhshanmehr
Both Drakhshanmehr and Abbasian didn't play as expected and were very weak.

It seems Kranjcar still experimenting with right combination because all 4 defenders of first half mostly play at CB position.
Razaghpout and Soltanimehr helped Defense during the first half while Khodabandehlu who replaced Soltanimehr could not help D line enough.
Shojaei team Captain was not released by Nekonam and Taheran did not show up even for training and these two are the strongest DM of this squad.
Asadi as CFW was useless,
We shall see what changes Kranjcar will come up with.

رئیس کمیته انضباطی توضیحاتی را در خصوص صدور رای دستور موقت بازیکنان دو تیم تراکتورسازی و نساجی قائمشهر صادر کرد.

اسماعیل حسن زاده، رئیس کمیته انضباطی گفت:مقامات تیم ملی فوتبال امید شکایتی را علیه دو باشگاه تراکتورسازی تبریز و نساجی قائمشهر و همچنین علی شجاعی، محمد مسلمی پور و محمدرضا آزادی بازیکنان باشگاههای فوق طرح کرده بودند که در تاریخ 3 مرداد ماه توسط دبیرکل فدراسیون به کمیته انضباطی ارجاع شد.
وی ادامه داد: اگر چه رسیدگی به پرونده پس از اخذ دفاعیات باشگاهها و بازیکنان یاد شده به عمل خواهد آمد به خاطر اهمیت موضوع و جایگاه تیم ملی فوتبال و همچنین به دلیل جلوگیری از اتفاقات بعدی، فعلا با صدور دستور موقت از شرکت این سه بازیکن در مسابقات رسمی تیم خود جلوگیری به عمل آمده تا پس از رسیدگی، رای نهایی صادر شود.
رئیس کمیته انضباطی گفت:صدور دستور موقت به این دلیل است که جلوی مشکلات بعدی رابگیرد به نحوی که با شرکت دادن بازیکنان مستنکف، پرونده جدیدی برای مسابقات باز نشود. یعنی تیم مقابل با استناد به غیر مجاز بودن این بازیکنان که به تیم ملی فوتبال امید نرفتند، شکایت دیگری نکند. مسلما حق دفاع برای دو باشگاه و بازیکنان وجود دارد که تا روز رسیدگی دفاعیات خود را منعکس کنند.

It seems because of Temporarily banned, Tractorsazi released two players to go join the U23 in Erbil Iraq. Tractorsazi only released Azadi & Moslemi but not Taheran.

According to Estilee, They have inquired whether Shalroei and Kazan will release Noorafkan & Shekari , then they will send final list to Jakarta.

Addition of these 4 players will not improve the U23 as these 4 are mediocre players not much better than those already there.
Contrary to what Estilee and Shahroudi said Omid team did not play well in the first game and losing is not satisfactory as they claim. Sadly both blamed the referee for their defeat.

# 10 Asadi from Persepolis is not a good target man, despite his height he loses the aerial games. Yes, Allahyar is a better player but it was a compromise to not invite both Ghaedi & Allahyar from Estaghlal. Jafari & Roostaei are other target FW but Jafari has not improved for the past 2 years and he is not the solution and Roostaei is good but not consistent for now.
Azadi of Tractor join the team after a long absence and he may play tomorrow. We will see if he can be effective with U21.

به گزارش سایت رسمی فدراسیون فوتبال، طبق قرعه کشی جدید بازیهایی آسیایی 2018 – جاکارتا در بخش فوتبال مردان این رقابتها با حضور 26 تیم در شش گروه از 10 آگوست لغایت اول سپتامبر (19 مرداد لغایت دهم شهریورماه) در اندونزی برگزار می شود و تیم ملی فوتبال امید کشورمان در گروه F با تیم های عربستان، میانمار و کره شمالی همگروه است.
