the good news is PAG is young and has a good chance to head to europe this summer. So we just need one of shariati,majid hosseini, Cheshmi to develop into a quality CB to partner him. Shariati has a chance if he gets to europe asap, majid hosseini is also very young and calm on the ball-definitely has potential. Cheshmi had one good game next to PAG vs Togo, and then a bunch of mediocre-shitty games, so we have to see with him. I personally think he lacks the speed necessary.

i think CQ will eventually find someone to come out of nowhere. PAG came out of nowhere back in 2015 and locked up the CB role ever since.. I was always worried after Aghily left TM that we couldn't ever find a good partner next to Jalal but we did.
After the Asian Cup, Taha needs to be featured in TM

im not sure but im worried for the future of our CBs unless Taha Shariati develops quickly. Outside of Jalal and PAG, I can't really depend on any CBs we have at the moment

No there's more young talented CBs playing in IPL... They just need get their ass to europe tho

He was the best defender on the MLS championship team...a team that almost won CONCACAF Champions league (although he was not part of the latter). If you follow MLS closely he deserves a spot. His LAFC is doing very well as an expansion team with him as a regular starter.

Basically CQ is leaving no stone unturned, even if he's 98% sure of his final squad
So these chaps need to do some extraordinary stuff to be picked

PAG is a workhorse. I don't remember which TM game it was, I want to say the friendly against Japan, but he was already on the ground and he lunged forward and used his head to deflect the ball.

The first thing I see once this page opens is "Beitashour". Very interesting by Carlos Queiroz to call Beitashour back up to Team Melli after literally 4 years.

I'm not complaining I am actually happy about it And the reason why I am happy is because Beitashour will need to compete against Belgian based Rezaeian and Esteghlal's Ghafouri. Always good to have a competitive atmosphere. It will help all 3 of them to push themselves which in return will only help Iran. I wouldn't be surprised if Carlos invited Beitollah so there's competition and Mehrdad helps Ghafouri get into non-domestic league shape lol.

It's gonna be a fight for 2 spots and I'm afraid Beitashour's language barrier (not saying he doesn't speak Farsi, goons) may decide if he stays or goes. But I am very happy to see his name back on the list. I think now we can put all the nonsense discussions to rest with Beitashour.

Also because he is in fantastic shape. Players in the PGPL might be technically better but aren't in athletic shape.

I think he will get Kamyabinia to replace him since he has spent time with the team, trained and played for TM. He is also a straightforward no BS defensive midfielder with high work rate, exactly what CQ likes. Highly doubt he introduces a fresh player with no TM experience all of a sudden before the WC.

Guys like Moharrami, Nourollahi etc.. will probably be brought to our team after the WC and might play a considerable role for us in the Asian Cup. Same for a keeper position, Beiranvand might start in the WC but afterwards I won't be surprised at all if one of Mazaheri/Hosseini/Abedzadeh become 1st choice for the AC
