CQ : Iranian football is 50-60 years behind Spain & Portugal
Originally posted by Kiarash View PostI think he's taking the job because they pay him so well, he's actually one of the best paid coaches of the World Cup. Very few federations give the coach the opportunity to manage the team but at the same time live outside the country. I expect at least one win against Morocco this World Cup, otherwise Queiroz has just failed to put it simply. I don't think this is a high expectation but rather a must after 7 years of managing TM.
I dont know how long you follow Iranian football and how many generations of team melli you have seen, but his team tactically surpasses every other team in the past
I have never seen a more consistent solid performance and great track record from the national team at least after the revolution
Surely he didnt win the asian cup but that game against Iraq showed who was the real champion and top team of Asia if you consider being top of the asian football past 7 years
Also before he came to our football we had no player in europe and we had major problems beating the likes of oman
So when it comes to assessment you need to look at the past, and evaluate it and then evaluate CQ’s record then compare the two then you will be impressed by the outcome of what he has achieved
I am guessing you didnt see the mayeli kohan days?چو ایران نباشد تن من مباد

I would say let him say to foreigners what he wants but we need to take that with a grain of salt.
Our football organization may be years behind but our TM is not. We have proven it number of times. If it was not for the referee and not injury caused to Ando's leg we could have tied or defeated Argentina in the last cup. We did not have any fresh legs for the next matches after argentina. even having Aghili there could have helped. The tired Ghoochani defending against Messi produced a goal for arg. Out team is number one in Asia so Japan and Korea must be 60 or 70 years behind spain and Portugal...?
Spain and Portugal have their economies depending on football so they do need 200% investment which they have done.
lastly take Ronaldo out of Portugal team and add Ali Karimi at his best with Bagheri and a couple of more players then we could defeat Portugal. There is a gap but the gap is really about some missing players in key positions. if 1 or 2 or 3 players make a big difference then the gap is not so many years. We need to teach our players from early age that Aghaye goal shodan is important but defending and playing as midfielders is just as important. Everyone wants to be playing in the front and score goals. That part of culture needs to be adjusted. CQ has more options in the front than anywhere else.
Anyway take it easy on him. we shall see if the gap has been reduced since he took over. I wonder what he would say about the gap 6 years ago. Maybe it was 60 or 70? hopefully that is the case and it should be. We used to tie with Turkamnitan and lose to Lebanon so we have come a long way. you cannot measure the difference in terms of years or light years. I would say keep peace. Do not create Hashieh and wleave CQ and his team alone. Even if you do not like what he says or does , wait till the end of world cup and then talk. for now we can stand behind our team and CQ and hope for the best. And that is all we can do and all we should do.

He is speaking of management, organization, infrastructure, etc. NOT RAW TALENT OR SKILL.
We are on par with Korea and Japan only because of our talent and skill of our players. They have much better infrastructure and money allocation than us.
If we had japans infrastructure, investment, and managment we would rape Asia like we do in futsal.

I agree with Leopard.
Let me remind you all that the football budget of Japan and Saudi Soosmar Ania
is $200 million per year each !!!!
What is Iran’s , like $10 million a year if that ??
Imagine if Iran has that kind of money to spend on football , we would have been only 5 years behind
Spain, Brazil and Germany.

This sums it up. Forget anything else you have heard or seen.

Alright so one more thing that needs to be cleared up, apparently when we are talking about Iranian football, we are not talking about our players skills, the football we play etc. (The actual football part), but about our facilities and federation.
So this question comes to mind, when we (Iranians, PFDC members) and all other people around the world, praise Brazilian and Argentinian football, we're actually not praising their players and football style, but their excellent federations, dalals and facilities.
I never knew that. You learn something new every day.

saying that CQ must produce results in the WC to be considered a success is such a BS argument. just lol. it's clear as day to anyone who's followed TM for a long time that the last 7 years went from being a low point in TM history to the most overachieving team we've ever had. and i say overachieving because we're the top team in asia and don't even have a player in any of the top 4 leagues. CQ created the culture where the kaveh rezaeis of the world take a paycut and go to belgium instead of staying in PGL.

Oh and to the irrational CQ fanboys (you are worse than Steve Jobs/Apple fan boys), if Mayelikohan had come and said the exact same thing would you also cheer for him and say it's true we are backwards people and worthy of the pity of the world.
Amoo sibil, forget about the pole result of your thread on "would you agree with a true statement of your enemy", just see the the hypocrisy and double standards in this thread and you'll have enough evidence of how PFDC members at leas would act.

Ya funny how the primitive footballing nation could make you the 7th wealthiest WC coach...so does that make CQ and exploiter of the weak? And what does that say about his views on Asian football in general then since Fifa has us at #1?Originally posted by Kiarash View PostYou can call it mindgames, I don’t care. CQ needs to be more respectful to a nation that pays him million euro’s a year while the average Iranian is almost living below poverty line.
He still has to justify it by giving us one good World Cup performance (Round of 16) or win the Asian Cup.
In 7 years he has still not done that. So he is really rude and should focus more on the team instead of spewing this BS.Remember RESPECT BEGETS RESPECT & Zob Ahan
