To the gentleman arguing over the flag, just wanted to point out that at this time the internationally recognized flag of Iran has the decorative tulip in the middle of it. You are all free to bring whichever flag you like, it’s your right as free individuals, but you are just going to confuse the hell out of foreigners at the venue who will look at you confused wondering if you are at the wrong game.
What is really shocking to me is Khanzadeh. and I don't mean his inclusion in the list, but the amount of bashing his selection is getting on this board! Khanzadeh has been very solid for his team and for TM, he is 27 years old, he can play both CB and RB and be good at both. he is one of the best defenders in IPL. and I don't have a problem with not taking Jalal Hosseini. but I admit dropping Ghafouri was surprising.
Carlos knows who is the best fit for what he has planned, so in Carlos I trust!
having said that, I don't expect any wins in this WC, but I do expect our boys to give %110 and defensively give Spain and Portugal a tough time.
A lot of you think TM list will change and that Hosseini, Ghafouri and Rezaei will be included in the final list. That may be very much true but then again.... why would he leave some of his key players out of a very important Turkey training camp?!!! I mean even if it was to motivate some players..... what motivation is more important than the last weeks of "training" ahead of a world cup?!
A player like Khanzadeh could be very useful and decide the outcome of our World Cup campaign, even if he is used just for 5-10 minutes during the entire tournament. Lets say we are leading 1-0 against one of our opponents Morocco, Spain or Portugal and the opponents are pressuring us close to our box in the dying minutes.
Players like Diego Costa and Benitia are very big and physical demanding to meet for a defender. Substituting an extra defender l like Khanzadeh in his best physical years and with his height just to clear aerial balls in the box, could be crucial and the margin that send us into the next round.
I think the logic of CQ selection is based on players who have the ability to play in multiple positions in the field. He has shown a lot of times that he doesn't beleive in classic defined roles of players.
Some of his selction may be questionable to us, but he surely has a strong reason for each and every player included or excluded.
I am certain he will show a few pleasant surprises in the final squad. Remember the performance of Pouladi in WC2014 who was literally our best player.
Our job now as Team Melli fans is to support our boys no matter what. It is time to respect the coach decision and get behind Team Melli.
I am shocked Seyed Jalal is not on list as many of you guys. On second thought, I think he would have been way too slow against the supreme opposition we are facing in the WC. I am very happy M. Hosseini is there and if CQ pairs him with PAG, then we all of a sudden have a very young CB lineup. I just hope he rises up to the occasion as PAG did in AC2011. I also believe in Khanzadeh.
Taking Gholizadeh as a LB is also quiet surprising. I definitely think he deserved to be included but he is not a defender!
Not including V. Ghafouri was also very shocking to me. I think the reason is that Ghafouri is more offensive minded than defensive and obviously CQ prefers Rezaeian and Montazeri over him. Maybe there was also a fitness issue as well.
Picking Gucci over K. Rezaei didn't surprise me at all. That was expected. Gucci has much more international experience than Rezaei. Also he has scored way more goals for Iran than Rezaei. I fully understand why CQ would choose him. Of course I am sad for Rezaei as well as Alipour. But that's how it is when you have the luxury of having so many good forwards to choose from.
I am also happy CQ chose Abedzadeh. I have a feeling he might end up as our main goalie for the final round of WC.
All in all, I am actually very happy about the list. Many excellent young players included.

The latest game two days ago was not useful enough to make decisions although some of us here poorly use one game to say beiranvand is good or bad.
Beiranvand is definitely #1 and many people knew it long time ago. As for number 3 goalkeeper it is ok to give it to Abedzadeh. #3 goalkeeper will probably never play and it is good tribute to his family and his attending the world cup as a national goalkeeper. in the future this will help him.
I think we need to go back to the game we lost to Tunisia. who remembers the line up? maybe we can see some clue there about CQ's decision. losing to tunisia was bad enough to make CQ think about new players.
I could care less about family tributes. All these players have worked their butts off and it’s a dream to make the WC squad and I feel like Hosseini deserves to fly to Russia with the squad over Amir even if both won’t play most likely. I want the best and most deserving players, not tribute to a family name.
Fuck Carlos Queiroz for always putting faith in Khanzadeh in friendlies, but never people like Tafazolli who is looking to advance in his career and join Championship/EPL side or never testing Beitashour even though he has vastly improved from his 2014 form. A list of defenders that are better choices than Khanzadeh: Azim Gök, Kanaanizadegan, Sadeghi (he has WC experience! smh...), Shafiei, Shariati, and a PFDC member. YES A PFDC MEMBER! A PFDC member would be a better defender than Khanzadeh!

i think kaveh should have been , karim only made the squad because he is downgraded from striker to midfield now and he has accepted his position.
Overall, not a bad selection of lads. Out with the old and in with the new. We need an overall transformation of our football, and this list can make it happen. Sure we don't have a lot of veterans who still are playing in today's league in TM, but we have to know that these players were hand-picked for a reason - To progress to the next round.
Our strikers are composed of the best finishers, and it does not only end there. Our midfielders and defenders also possess such threats. Most players in the team can also play multiple roles, and we have a balance between age and experience. Our Goalies are from the two best ranked teams from this year's leagues who possess unique skills - one being long throws, and the other being a shot stopper. To create diversity amongst them, we add a foreign based goalie who has played in the Portuguese league and established himself in their club's starting line-up.
Our competitors do not possess what we have, but due to politics we suffer otherwise we're almost as equal as they are. All our players can easily play abroad. As underdogs, we can pull the surprises needed. Don't forget that our standby players still have a chance, as not everyone is invincible or possess immunity.
Hey buddy. Fuck you! I have my opinions, you have yours. Quit cherry picking me and targeting me personally, because my opinions don't match with yours. That goes against the whole purpose of an opinion.
Everyone has had different opinions on this thread, but nobody has expressed them as immaturely and rudely as yourself. Using your logic -- CQ has his opinion too, and at least his is rooted in knowledge and first hand experience with the team.
I'm not trying to bash you, but it would be a good idea to think about what you are saying. Lets start with list announcement (specifically Beitashour). Probably you've done 0 research on the FIFA rules for the WC list and instead you are just shooting off what you think is right. So maybe learn the rules first, start there, and we can move on to other subjects.
