The problem with Masoud if you look at him, both now and in 2014 world cup is that he is too stagnant. He isn't thinking of where to go, his off-the-ball play and anticipation are poor for TM and as a result there are gaps where he should be. If he is going to play in this central midfield role for the WC (which I think CQ is planning) he needs to finally be a bit more mobile as he needs to dictate the play. Which he isn't doing at all.
