This was an absolute embarrassment by TM. Probably the worst performance of TM in the last 3-4 years.

The 2nd part of the first half we looked decent but the remaining 3/4th of the match it was painful to watch. Worst part is that this was basically our main starting 11 for majority of the match.

If we struggle like this against a 2nd rate European team like Turkey, we are in for a very disappointing WC. I am officially very very worried.

It feels so strange to me to consider Turkey as "European" Team.
They are hord from central asia and by no means
european.

I understand that, but Mancini is there to make a point so is balo. This is also a friendly which is not as important to the Italians.

There's a lot of work to do. There were some good moments and we looked a much more solid unit with Ebrahimi in - the middle of the park changed completely. This kind of player is absolutely key in the shape of the team.

Apart from that, Beiranvand was good. JB was promising for first half, weaker second half.

CQ needs to get his emotions out of the way with certain players - especially Masoud. And I hope he figures out how to fit Ghoddos in with JB and Taremi without changing the balance of the team.

Remember we had some very good friendly results before 2006 world cup (e.g. the Bosnia game) and in the end our performance in that tournament was so anaemic.

And we had a disaster before 1998 world cup (7-1 loss against AS Roma B) yet in the actual tournament we were very positive and played well.


This game doesn't mean anything, but we NEED to see changes for the cup itself.
