This might sound controversial. I thought he looked the more experienced player when he played the 2nd 45 minutes alongside Jalal Hosseini against Uzbekistan. His style reminds me of Thiago Silva, no nonsense but in a very composed and calm manner.

Yeah true. Regardless its important we keep supporting this guy, we need new centre backs, hopefully Majid Hosseini, Iman Salimi, Taha Shariati, Amirhossein Esmaeilzadeh, Morteza Pouraliganji and Ali Abdollahzadeh become as successful as their talent suggests.

never seen the guy play before the Uzbek game....!!
he sure looked solid, composed and young and spry to boot..! but that Uzbek youngin (somewhat undersized looking) team hardly posed any attacking threat on our goal and cant really say that he was tested much if any..!!

really would a liked to have seen him feature vs turkey and now with greek o kos canceled, i guess he only has Carlos to convince for starting role at WC ..!! it seems certain he will get decent bit of time at world cup, considering our positional shortage and the fact Pejman will likely feature as RB too ..!

considering his raw international experience, lets hope he doesnt get Stage-Fright at WC (which seems quiet possible..!!?)

reminds me of Reza Haghighi (the DMF in our 2014WC), he was another who looked like a promising player but laid an egg when brought on late in Argentine game and we just saw what happened to Roozbeh vs Turkey ..!

at least he is CB by trade, not another make-shift player..! he better step the Fk Waaaaay up @ WC, or we could be in deep doo doo @ the vital CB position at WC..!

He is rated 62 on FIFA and Jalal is rated 72, why on earth would take 62 rated player when you have a 72 rated on at your disposal? (Before everyone freaks out, I'm joking )

Thing is though, any top defender would find it easy against that Uzbekistan team, and he was. YET, Jalal Hosseini and Khanzadeh were struggling in some parts.

Good pace though, fastest CB in our squad on the game.

i dont remember seeing Jalal struggle in that match ..!?? yet from my recollections, he did seem to be trying a bit too hard to impress..!!?
probably knew (possibly he was even told by CQ..?) pre-game that his WC Traveling position was on the bubble..??

He was committing a few late tackles and Majid was looking like a G

jalaal was pushing upfield a lot more though to try and dictate our offensive presence and tempo further up the pitch, while Majid was mostly playing it safe in the back..!!??
                          again from my faint recollection..!!

jalaal definitely seemed a bit on the edge in that game, but certainly didnt look defensively shaky or suspect by any means like Roozbeh ..!
forgetabout the hapless khanzadeh ... who isnt even worth discussion how he made the freaking cut..!!?

Shaffer says he is the best in Asia! We just have not seen him so much in friendly games.

that is some high praise there...!!
granted it was probably a comment, mostly meant to boost confidence of his young CB at ACL...!?
but then again German's arent really known for bsing o grandstanding

well, sure as shittt, it looks like he will get his chance at WC to back it up...!!

Appreciate it man! Interestingly enough I’ve already started gathering clips of duels, 1 v1, interceptions, key passes, clearance, tackles etc. of Majid from 1.5 weeks ago.

It’s a really time consuming process because he is a defender and the work he does doesn’t show up in short match highlights. I’m basically watching every Esteghlal match he’s played in this season and downloading clips of him.

Here is the YouTube thumbnail I will be using for the video:

This is a long project, but it should be completed in two weeks time.
