I think IFF are waiting to see how we preform in the Group of Death before offering him a new contract.
If the results are disappointing, they'll have an easy time giving the team to someone like Daei. But if our performance is impressive, IFF will have two problems for not resigning CQ: the public pressure will be too high to keep him, and other coaches will be hesitant to replace him for the Asian Cup because they know if they win it'll be written down to his work and if they lose they'll be seen as ruining what CQ built.
