That Algeria B team did not even play together before - against us, they featured a lot of new players playing together for the first time (ONLY ONE PLAYER played started against Iran and Tanzania). Everyone else was new starters. Their best players (Slimani, Belalii, Bennacer etc. didn't even start against us)

We didn’t have any meaningful chances against Nigeria. Pointing out Algeria B team and South Korea is pure confirmation bias. Not conicidentally, those are 2 of the least important games under Skocic’s tenure (we were already qualified with the 2nd South Korea leg, and Algeria was just a friendly).

When the games have mattered, Skocic has delivered. 1st leg against South Korea we hit the post twice, and had two other meaningful chances. Not too bad, considering South Korea was the first “tough” opponent Iran faced under Skocic.

I was a big fan of CQ too. But consider this: it’s much more difficult to organize a team offensively, than defensively. Skocic is trying to do the former. Will he succeed? Who knows. But he needs more friendlies to do that. It’s difficult to cultivate that during a WCQ campaign when the primary focus was to clean up Wilmot’s mess.

But my question is, what's the point in even debating this? Do we really think that Carlos Queiroz will return to our national team? 5 months before the World Cup?

Carlos isn't stupid enough to come back now. Especially knowing what his former players said about the current state of Team Melli. I'm willing to bet if i.r. FF somehow even manages to persuade Carlos to return, 100%.. no 1000% they'll assume the fans are comfortable knowing their Keyrosh is back, and they'll continue to do little to 0 to help Team Melli..

Because if Carlos even decides to come back, I'm pretty damn sure he'll say something along the lines of, "We had talk with federation.. I'm happy to be here in Iran. I saw the people, the fans.. But at end of the day I'm here for my boys. The rest, (chuckles) I don't need to explain. I think by now everybody know. Our expectations shouldn't be high. But we will do our best."

Would you guys have CQ return which could create confusion within the squad (in terms of our players, the tactics, our formations)? Would you risk having hashieh surround our team before the World Cup? Because as much as I love CQ, his personality can create chaos lol. The good side of this are his big iron balls, as pertains to our lovely IFF. The downside is that he triggers the hell out of all the forehead branded zealots who continue to sabotage our team.

A team that concedes easy goals, would never have chance in the world cup. We are not playing Oman and Bahrain.. We lack play makers, efficient wingers. We don't have that.. Our defense sucks and all we have is plenty of decent quality forwards but without proper game plan and play makers we don't have a chance. We struggled against South Korea in both games and lost to them very poorly with horrible display.. Algeria game was horrendous. Just hopeless, players have lost faith in the coach and frustrated with situation, they just are not able to publicly announce it. We made so many childish mistakes in South Korea and Algeria game. Skocic wrong choice of players, tactics, playing players out of their normal position has been very stressful to watch.
To say Skocic has delivered is a bit overstating man... If we struggle with South Korea and Algeria B team, you think we have a chance against England, USA team. we might get a point with Wales but with this situation that is even doubtful. Losing is part of the game, but with I witness our team struggle to complete 5 passes in a row, its worrying.. We went from playing modern organized football to bekesh ziresh yaa hay paasayeh aghab keh sholo vel...Bargahtim beh 30 saal pish baa in morabieh atigheh kaar nadoon....
