If CQ doesnt bring Jalal Hosseini we are going to have so many problems

Jalal Hosseini was a leader, his experiance brought confidence to the team from our goal keeper to the strikers were at esse and with every attack the team didnt go into a panic mode like headless chickens

He must come back to the team

There are some players that are perfect against the likes of uzbeks like torabi and cheshmi but they have no place in the team against stronger sides

Beiranvand - 6 (great first half but was totally off on the second goal)

Rezaeian - 4 (decent going forward but was useless in defence)
Pouraliganji - 6 (looked pretty stable to me)
Cheshmi - 3 (very shaky and looked out of his depth. Does not cut it at this level)
Mohammadi - 7 (good both in defence and offence, even though he had some minor errors)

Hajsafi - 6 (I thought he was OK. Had some good actions and looked pretty comfortable on the pitch)
Shojaei - 3 (horrible game. At least now we know that he cannot play DM. He is too much of a liability when he loses the ball far down the pitch. Looked slow and sloppy)
Ansarifard - 4 (he is a striker and nothing else. He cannot play in midfield or as a supporting attacker)

Jahanbakhsh - 6 (very good first half, but was very sloppy in the second half. It is obvious that he has much more class than most of our players)
Taremi - 4 (invisible for most of the time. Whenever he was involved, he looked clumsy)
Azmoun - 5 (tried but was not successful. Has a good first touch but seemed to get the ball too far down the pitch. This forced him to try to be creative, which he is not very good at)

      ----------------------------------------------

Ebrahimi - 6 (looked much better than Shojaei)
Amiri - 4 (runs a lot, but to no good)
Ghoddos - 6 (you can see that he has great potential)
Dejagah - 5 (looked rusty, but can obviously still contribute)
      Torabi - /

MOTM for us is Hajsafi in my opinion. Chesmi cost us two goals and almost a third with hat edge of the box freekick, should not be let near the starting lineup

We dont know how to create chances, most of our goals are khar tu khari, bekesh ziresh and those that are nice goals its against shitty teams, against an okay team we suck, we just suck.

We are not fit enough to play against European opponent tempo. We are simply too slow and run out of steam.

I hope CQ can improve this in the next couple of weeks.

I'm not sure why everyone bashes on Shojaei. Look at it objectively, he's the only one that provided reasonable distribution in the back and calmed the game down during the hard presses by the Turks. Second goal was partly his fault, but the help defender was Chesmi. He was gone, and he needs to be out of Team Melli.

A key takeaway from this game was we know for sure who are keeper is, and we know for a fact that Cheshmi and Rezaeian are NOT defense-material, with the former NOT Team Melli/WC material.

                        Beiranvand - 7.5

Rezaeian - 7 on attack, 3 on defense. Still way too nervous. He's only godo against teams he thinks are lower than him. Against Portugal he'll beg to shine Ronaldo's cleats.
Pouraliganji - 6 - had to cover for Cheshmi alot. I felt bad for him.
Cheshmi - 0 - Leave TM please. You are not good enough for this squad.
                        Mohammadi - 7 - Respect.

Hajsafi - 6 - Did great moving the ball forward but takes dumb touches.
Shojaei - 0 - An absolute failure as DM. At least when he was in attack if he messed up we could recover. Now if he messes up we get scored on.
Ansarifard - 2 - invisible and soft. Couldn't make a tackle or stand his ground.

Jahanbakhsh - 6 - Amazing in the first half and saved Rezaeian's arse many times. Cut in several times on attack which was nice to see
Taremi - 5 - got no decent balls and didn't really have any chances. More invisible than bad.
Azmoun - 2 - Have some shame man. You are a world class talent, yet you play like you're forced to.

                        ----------------------------------------------

Ebrahimi - 6 - Shojaei was such a disaster Ebrahimi looked good.
Amiri - 7 on defense, 2 on offense - strong as an ox, dumb as one too.
Ghoddos - 6.5 - still seems nervous, but is ambitious.
Dejagah - 6.5 - can at least hold on to the ball. good penalty.
                        Torabi - 6 - hustled
                        Gucci - 6.5 - also hustled.

Before everyone loses their shit, step back a second and review a few things.

1 - We are in the middle of a heavy training camp designed for us to peak right at the start of the World Cup. Our players are not at their best yet. They will be in 2.5 weeks.
In 98 we lost to AS Roma 7-1 the same way.
2 - Tactics were not the major issue. Pure individual mistakes were. What Cheshmi and Shojaei did (and didn't do) took us out of the game completely. That was the worst play I have seen by an Iranian CB in maybe ever!
3 - We were challenged and this was a worthwhile friendly. We really saw which players can handle the pressure and how we do against a hungry team.
4 - Make no mistake, this Turkey team wanted it. Turkey's team is going to change significantly in the next few years. Most of these players are pushing for starting spots plus they had scouts in the stands. They were as motivated as you can get for a friendly.
5 - We have no real DM. Ezatollahi really destroyed us with his dumb red card.
6 - CQ cannot justify the omission of Jalal Hosseini. I'm sorry, Cheshmi was again really bad.
7 - I know alot of you like Shojaei, but he's the same old slow, soft, angry player we've always known.
8- Mimo was the most level headed and performed admirably. Clutch guy who did so well the Turks didn't even go after him anymore.
9 - Beiranvand did great. Don't be so ungrateful.
                        10- No Cheshmi, no Shojaei.

In the end, I just hope CQ never tries Shojaei and Cheshmi again.

What gives me hope is that we were the less physical team today. We tend to play poorly when we are the physically stronger/rougher team (see games like Sweden). I was noting during the game that we lost almost every aerial duel. Even Sardar was unable to win that many headers against their strong physical defenders.

All teams in our group have physically strong defenders, so I imagine we will struggle to score in Russia. On the other hand, our opponents all have fairly short midfielders and wingers, so we should be able to be the more physical team in midfield, which will let us play a little less erratically than today.

Don't get me wrong, today was disappointing, but Turkey is a team comparable to Sweden, Serbia, Croatia, etc. that I believe are built to oppose TM's strengths. Morocco is not like Turkey, and is a more technically gifted team, so I don't see our play being as sloppy as today against the physical Turks. Tosun did to us what Ibrahimovic did a couple of years ago. We are not built to match up well against these teams. I think our underperformance here was for CQ to find his players. This game was not supposed to be reflective of our gameplan in Russia.

Hopefully CQ makes some difficult decisions now, as I believe that he may drop a couple players and call up a few standbys ahead of the June 4 deadline. At least, I am starting to hope so...

Turkey has players all over Europe, playing in Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga etc.

Come on guys ... either way, it's great to see friendlies and what we are made of. We have work to do but there is a huge gap between Europe and Asia.

Queiroz post match comments 1/3: "We lost the game, but learned a lot of thing. Playing Turkey tought our players what it means to play top level international games."

Queiroz post match comments 2/3: "Players started nervously because they are not used to this intensity, but then they became better after 20 minutes and showed we can play good football."

Queiroz post match comments 3/3 "Our World Cup group is very difficult, probably the most diffcult one. But we will play with one dream in mind and we are optimistic with the right attitude we can qualify to the knockout stage."
