Worrying, very worrying. This was embarrassing and I'm ashamed.
One thing is for sure, CQ never managed to win a game when we were trailing, and it doesn't intend on changing in this WC. Our team is made to protect a lead, we can't come back in a match for shit.

Awful just awful, we dont know how to score, we suck so bad at international level, only good against some middle eastern countries. Berin gol zadano yad begirin. cheshmi is nowhere near tm level, same with ansarifard, cant believe the guy is still in tm.

They scored on 2 counter attacks. Tosun is just that good. Shojaei was a terrible choice for holding mid. We played ok.

Turkey played with nothing to lose, and they had a lot of younger players trying to impress their NT coach.

TM has to be conservative in these friendlies... imagine a player giving his all in a friendly and getting injured just as he's about to live a life dream of playing in the World Cup.

We just have no answer for when we are behind - And when we aren't particularly good on the ball.
Our strengths have been on defense (which 'remarkably' with the exclusion of Hosseini and the inclusion of Cheshmi) was not our strength today and fast counter attacks with good movement.
Having said that, allot of our players seemed both nervous and unfocused this game, so although i wouldn't look too terribly into it, it does state what realistically would happen.
We are going to battle it out with Morrocco for 4th place, and with this game in mind, even securing third is making me think twice.

they are saying on the post-game on Channel 3 that we played a lot better in second half once Ashkan and Ghoddos were in the game ... and we also stretched their defense well.
he said we lost the physical part of the one-on-one battles on defense .. and our speed was an issue.

I only saw the penalty at the end of the game.
I honestly don't care about the result. What I love most is ... we had Ashkan back and he PLAYED ... and we scored at the end ... means we didn't give up

Maybe Khanzadeh should be tried at RB instead of Rezaeian in a defensive formation.

Rezaeian is a right midfielder playing RB… (obviously I'd rather see Ghafouri but I guess he's cut, which is terrible)

Cheshmi should never play a Team Melli match again.. Atrocious player.

Majid Hosseini should start at CB, so should ghoddos

Taremi is not a creator. He needs other creators in order to be involved, just like Azmoun

Ansarifard in the midfield is like throwing away the entire midfield. Just awful.

Forget player ratings.. Their is nothing to rate. We may have only lost 2-1, but that was probably the worst our team has played in years..

Z Joon with the overly dramatic analysis again IMO... I like you bro but its easy to see when your emotions get the best of you.


I think a neutral would have been highly entertained with this game - chances at both ends and exciting football.

Now for us - I didn't mind the lineup. But 2 things for me, I think Saman needs to start and Cheshmi is still a question mark to me.

Beira with some nice saves, but also with a head scratching semi/uncertain exit on second goal.


There were LOTS of moments in this game where I was happy with the play, and also moments where I thought we were poor (especially the nervy first 15 mins) - but hey guess what, we are not playing Asia anymore. So get used to games where we are not always the better team.

At the end of th day I though we did decently well against a VERY pacy Turkish squad (playing in UEFA has clearly payed off).

I won't do player ratings because I think every player had good moments and bad, so its hard for me to make a decision.


If I was to make one final point, it is this - this game showed that there is basically little to NO room in the WC for individual error. You have to play the game of your life to get a result.

Lol keep dreaming my friend. If Cheshmi plays inthe WC he's gonna do the same blunders. The fact that we can't create at all isn't linked to players scared of getting injured. That's been the case for years. We've never managed to score after a good ball possession, it's always been down to set pieces or pure luck.
