this is the issue, is not the matter of age and experience, is the matter of the coach desicion, every country the coaches made contervasal desicions, however everyone accepted the coach desicion. we bring back seyed jalal, law and order of TM is gone for good. onces he is back there will be bikering from vouria, from kaveh and etc.

I think it is a possibility that CQ is going to change the final line up for the world cup. Look at his interview today that was published on pfdc, his responses are vague and cleverly obscure and i think it's a part of his effort to abstain from sharing his knowledge. He *could* just be trying to keep Morocco on their heels so i think it's best to wait and see. What i personally think is ridiculous is people incapable of spelling criticizing arguably the most successful iranian coach since the revolution. Question his strategy, sure, but playing football with your buddies at a local school on sundays doesn't make you an expert in this sport.

i just don't understand why CQ decided to drop him NOW. why didn't he phase him out earlier and give Majid Hosseini the chance?
folks on the gol bezan podcast guessed it was CQs way of avoiding pressure. he cut JH at a point in time when nothing (ie media pressure) could do anything about it

just one point about CB's speed: John Terry was one of the slowest players even when he was young.....but he was a world class defender even when he was old.....
In CB position a cool head, positioning, reading the game and physical strength are the main attributes needed, speed a is a nice plus to have and that only for the teams like barca (where Puyol and Pique are also two of the slowest out there) where the team pressures the opponent all the time and the defense line plays up field at the center of the field to reduce the distance and keep the pressure high.
We at best play counter football (let's not say that we park the buss even though we usually have 2 CDMs and RM/LM istead of real RW/LW) so having a very fast defender is only nice for that defender to run back from our corner kicks

I voted for Hosseini but allow me to explain.
You see, if this was the 2014 World Cup and we were grouped with Bosnia and Nigeria then I would take this Roozbeh Cheshmi as he would be able to handle those teams until he opted to Europe or developed slowly in 4 years until the 2018 World Cup.
Jalal Hosseini became a very good (not great) central defender because he has many years of experience. He has played for Team Melli under 4 different head coaches (Ghalenoei, Daei, Ghotbi and Queiroz).
Iranian players DO develop into very good and confident athletes. However, because our domestic youth football developmental system is a disorganized mess, a player like Jalal Hosseini could have been this good when he was in his early-mid twenties. But our players develop late and that was also the case with Farhad Majidi. He was a fantastic player. He developed and became even better from age 28-33.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, unless Roozbeh Cheshmi started for Iran for 10 years or at least 2 years and played football in Europe he is unfortunately not ready to face the likes of Spain or Portugal.
In Carlos Queiroz I trust and whatever he chooses I choose. I just hope he’s not like “I’m leaving in Iran after the World Cup.. We are playing Spain and Portugal so I think I’ll start Cheshmi.. YOLO!”

3. The younger Hosseini also only has 1 cap...
4. Pouraliganji is not physically strong, we saw what happened when he played against Sweden. And it isn't rare for him to fall out of position. He plays much more solid when he is next to Hosseini
5. Cheshmi marking Ronaldo sounds like a comedy
At the very least Jalal Hosseini could be a sub.... no reason for him not to be there. What if Montazeri or Pouraliganji get injured??
the only reason for him not to be there is Who are we to dump, in order to make room for him..!?
or should i say Which 2 players from the current 24 are most expendable ?
my choices would be Torabi, (simply surplus to our Winger requirement and can't really adapt to a more defensive position as well as Gholizade.... also just too much of a sarpayee and unsophisticated of a footballer..! gholizadeh will surpass him on all fronts in short year or 2 in EU football..!
not so sure about the second drop-pe though..?? Khanzadeh? cheshmi but we're already somewhat shallow on the overall defensive cover , unless we gonna swap either for Ghafouri? which seems highly unlikely..!! i think i'd still rather drop yet another useless winger to make room in Amiri/Gholizadeh?..!!
Overall....
I'd rather us not try to reinvent the wheel this late in the game, and for most part sticking to the Overall Defensive Scheme that were damn good @ and got us to the WC in first place..!
it would be a Wise gamble to adapt a more Offensive/Counter Attacking formation in 2nd half of the Morocco game, otherwise Stick with what we know and proven we can perform best as a Team .!

Also he is useful in standard situations and can score for us. yes cheshmi scored also a header vs. uzbekistan lately, but he miss the quality Hosseini has (Leadership, experience, fighting and defending in the box, organisation).
Jalal's leadership as captain gives enthusiasm the the rest. Sorry Mr. Hajsafi you need to speak and talk to your teammates. You have a harsh face with no smile. Let jalal or Dej be the captain and please do not take free kicks unless you score 4 out of 5 from 30 yards during practice.

Goalkeeper needs to be able to communicate with his defenders. I recall when montazeri and rahmati were playing they did well for esteghlal, the same happened when Beiranvand and jalal were playing. The goalkeeper who has worked with a CB knows his capabilities and his moves well and knows how to compensate for the shortcoming of the defender and which move he has to take. In Turkey game Cheshmi and Beiranvand were like total strangers playing on the street. It takes time to develop the structure and learn the idiosyncrasies of your team members.
