ELO is just so much better: https://www.eloratings.net/
Can anyone argue with that top 10? I just find the algorithm so much better than FIFA: https://www.fifa.com/fifa-world-rank...men/index.html
ELO is only used officially in chess, but "unofficially" many people prefer it in other sports.
For example. Belgium was not 3rd in elo before the WC

Secondly, Japan lost to Belgium after being up 2-0, that’s a mental fart of epic proportions. Secondly, South Korea hasn’t beat us since 2011, and this is without them having crippling sanctions on their country. I don’t understand how you can talk this smack with a straight face. You have all the extrinsic advantages, and are still inferior. Didn’t you guys lose UAE at home for god’s sake? Put a sock in it bro lol

wait ... what?
Monkey's dicks have pubes on them?
How?
buffguy, while sanctions may have a slight impact, that too indirectly, on how a national team performs, but brandishing & throwing around this "crippling sanctions" as the be all & end all of the excuses for TM not winning asia cup or ..., is simply unacceptable and incomprehensible.
War and Iran being treated as a pariah nation have 100 times more impact on the subject than "sanctions".
Sanctions dont decide HOW we play, or WHAT tactics we employ, or HOW our clubs decide to develop youngsters.
Why I reacted to this "sanction as the ultimate evil for every screw up happening in Iran" is bcoz I see many ppl blame totally irrelevant problems and deficiencies of our country on sanctions .... some, as excuse for the gov't's utter inability ... no, REFUSAL to attend to Iran's problems.
sanctions, for example is a reaction for a gov't spending precious nat'l wealth on terrorism, support of genocide and murdering dictators, warmongering and destabilizing efforts in the region.
we stop funding terror, and sanctions will disappear. will we?

We are only going to continue to get better. And once the crippling sanctions are taken off and we can reach our full potential, other Asian teams will be less than the pubes on a monkey dick to us. Perhaps you’ve forgotten in the 70s Iran was the only nation representing Asia in the World Cup, but war and political savagery have really hurt us. Regardless, our physique is superior to other Asian teams (just look at our height differences) and again, once sanctions are lifted and we can actually have better preparations, we would crush countries like yours.

spot on.
we have failed continuously becoz we have become a nation that NEVER learns from its past and mistakes.
we continue to make the same mistake, expecting a different result!
we continue to ignore the root of our problems (not just in sports, but life & politics also) and focus on insignificant superficial issues (mostly also irrelevant)

The United States has never funded terror? i wonder would would happen if the United States was held accountable for all its support of regime change, civilian deaths, and illegal drone strikes it continues to carry out. It's not about us funding terror.
The U.S. knows it devastating sanctions only impact the well-being of the iranian people and continue to implement them knowing that. they also are the biggest weapons exporter to the most backwards country in the world.
yeah, our government is filled with the most vile, vicious humans, but don't use that to deflect from these horrible sanctions at the hands of western powers that are taking away from the very dignity and humanity of our own people.
