Well from the above post it looks like players like Ghoddos are losing sponsorships because of it.

This means he is losing a whole bunch of money just by being associated with Iran.

Hence, it’s a much bigger problem than just painting over the logo.

Skokaoset är inte Irans enda problem inför mästerskapet. Landet skulle ha spelat en träningslandskamp mot Grekland som ställdes in och istället anordnade landet en match mot Kosovo. Men under lördagen står det klart att även den matchen ställs nu in.

När matchen mot Grekland ställdes in sa Irans fotbollsförbund följande:

”Det iranska fotbollsförbundet kommer att fortsätta med en rapport till Fifa och ta alla lagliga möjligheteter för att hitta kompensation för alla skador som detta har orsakat, både på sportslig och finansiell nivå. Till dess kommer det iranska fotbollsförbundet att säga upp alla kontakt med det grekiska förbundet”

Fotbollskanalen har sökt Nike i Sverige för en kommentar men man hänvisar till huvudkontoret i Paris som ska uttala sig i PR-frågor. Där har ingen gått att nå.
