    .

They are a company that depends on sales. Of course, it will affect how they deal with situations.

The fully knew that the TM players can easily buy the shoes if they wanted and that they had no control or say if the TM players decided to wear the shoes. They made this statement publicly to endear themselves to the freaking rednecks and to hurt the Iranian team.
AS CQ said, Nike has to apologize to TM as well as the whole Footballing and WC community. Until then, not another dime spent on their products.

Who are you to urge all Iranians to boycott Nike

That is total non-sense. Firstly this is not political this is an outright attack on Iranian national Football team. Then, yes it will, you're dealing with an American corporation that is answerable to it's share holders and creditors. The one and only way to make them hear you is when you threaten their bottom line period done an done.

Nike is afraid of their Image failing, that is why it’s important to spread this hashtag #Iranians_Boycott_Nike

Use international platforms like Twitter (the best platform for invoking change). I have ZERO doubt that our PFDC Twitter account has resulted in Nike coming out with a statement to backtrack. We got HUGE RTs and Likes and caused a huge storm by getting on Twitter Moments front page.

If you are not on Twitter - you have to do better guys and realize that actions like this will only result in change.
Can you please tweet #Iranians_Boycott_Nike on PFDC’s twitter and other social networking sites and ask people to use the hashtag in their posts?

I don't need to use any hashtag as I am directly tagging Nike in the posts. It is more impactful like this because people are actually commenting on the post and saying they are disgusted with Nike - many saying they will refuse to buy from them.

I honestly don't find hashtags useful. It looks ugly too lol. I can get a message across without using hashtags on PFDC's twitter account.

                    Do you have Twitter?

                      Yes it will!
Your refusal to purchase their products it means few things
                      1- you support your boys
2- it means you understand national pride and national dignity

Well whats the problem/harmof putting the hashtag in your “Direct post to Nike”
you can easily write that in your post,

Trust me the companies are more afraid of hashtags going against them than atomic bomb

If you dont want to use it I respect that and its your choice, but please don’t give me that phony justification you have 144 characters to use and that hashtag can easily be used in your @nike direct tweet

Use it once and you will see the results for yourself!

There is no harm in using it!

The problem with us Iranian people is that whenever we have to do something meaningful and useful as a nation for our national pride and dignity, not only we don’t come together as a nation but there are individuals that stop others from attempts to do so for the following reasons

1- they are lazy to act, even for simple things like using a hashtag

2-they dont see a point in trying

3-they do not have/understand national pride and dignity and the importance of standing up against discrimination as a way of restoring your national pride and dignity

4-they do not understand the concept of unity itself and coming together to do something meaningful

5-even if they are trying to do something they do not understand what tools to use to have maximum impact

It is very frustrating when you have to explain these basics elements to majority of our fellow iranians, everywhere else people rush in and do what is needed to react , but with us our own people turn into Nike’s agents of stopping such movements

Guys Boycotting a product/Company/organization/events is the most impactful way to voice your self , boycott as a retaliation concept is being taught in business and political science classes in universities

You guys write millions of things per week, I dont understand why you guys cant write few words in support of your team and your country?

Your team needs your support now, If they see there is a twitter/instagram facebook trending hashtag storm against nike and it becomes global news they feel your power of support behind them even more

Sir, you are right that there are naysayers, but that happens in every culture. Everybody here can add a voice. Tehranto is right. Twitter is a much much bigger platform and very effective. But this forum and similar ones can be used to spread the word across multiple social platforms. There is a decent international response to this. I am sure if there pressure is kept up, Nike will have to take another action.

You are also right that the only thing that these companies care about is their sales. So boycotting them and encouraging others to do so is a VERY effective action.

By the way, I though Addidas's response was understated yet very effective. Good for them.
