We are super fans of TM, but alot of Iranians still think guys like Ali Daei are still playing. We have very poor travelling culture for football, even among the diaspora who actually have money and can travel easily.

I'm just very cynical after the poor turnout in Germany 2006 considering how many Iranians live there.

Man, I hope not. I hope we can outnumber them at the stadium. We need all the advantages and having a bigger fan base to play in front of would be one such advantage.

Just population wise, Iran's population (80+million excluding ex-pats) more than doubles Morocco's (36 million). And I know Iran is under heavy sanctions, economy is shit and people have less and less money for leisure such as travel but our more than 2x larger population should still give us the edge not to mention our 5+ million ex-pats, many of whom are affluent and have the means of going to Russia.

Come on ... IR has more important things to do than making Iranian people happy. Like sending our nation's money and paasdar to Syria, funding Hezbollah, running many radio and tv broadcasts spreading Islamic propaganda, etc. etc. . -- why should they spend the money on people??? shame on you to suggest!

Im going with a group of 8 from Iran I have 3 of my friends coming from vancouver, a palestinian guy and his wife who are hardcore iran fans and 2 russian girls I knew from back in the day so my group alone is 17 people we will easily have over 10k for sure
