Azmoun wasn’t ready for the World Cup and Khalatbari was cut because he wasn’t physically strong enough to handle CQ’s defensive plans for Nigeria, Argentina and Bosnia.

Ansarifard is a safe bet for the final 23. Great season in Greece plus he played a lot of games in TM, and was repeatedly utilized as winger and central midfielder too. Ghoddos certainly in too. Taremi a fixed starter for Morocco.

But we have far too many wingers in the squad. Taremi, Ghoddos, Jahanbakhsh, Torabi, Amiri, Gholizadeh and even Rezaeian or Hajsafi or others can play there too.

So one out of Amiri, Torabi and Gholizadeh has to stay at home. All 3 had a great season. Amiri joined the camp later due to ACL, but he has played in TM more often than the other 2 and was also used as CM a couple of times.

Gholizadeh and Torabi both were among the first to join the camp but while the former might be considered as leftback backup, Torabi cannot be used in any other position and that's why I think he will be the unlucky one this time around.

Have you seen Torabi as left back ever? Gholizadeh is metioned as defender in the list and I find it hard to believe since he is short. In world cup we are going to see
lots of areal football and we will need tall players close to our defense.

It is not fair to cut Ghoddos but not impossible. He played greate against Panama. But since then he seems confused in our team. If Amiri gets cut I believe Perspolis would be mad. Only one player from perspolis would be in TM.

Ghoddos has been promised a world cup spot. He will not be cut. no matter how he played in the last games where he barely got any playing time

It means Gholi zade is out. Then who should play LB? Milad and who? The defender list will include 7 players. One player from Midfield/Forward list should be added to defense.

Nope, Gholizadeh was 24 all the time, numbers can be switched. I think because of the recent team photo, everyone is speculating now. But Gholizadeh remains a candidate for missing out...

I was thinking the whole purpose of the extra spot was to give Ashkan a chance to prove his fitness. Hard to tell much from his Turkey cameo but if that was the reasoning, it will be one of Ashkan, Masoud, Torabi, Ghoddos or Amiri. Don't think Gholizadeh will as he is our backup LB. Personally, I'd choose Khandzadeh, it leaves us a little short in defence but meh.

I think you have no knowledge about TM, there is not 1 % chance of cutting Shojaei or Dejagah even if they play for 5 minutes

there is still an unfulfilled LB positional need for Gholizadeh and tbh, he is even a better winger..! so one would guess Torabi is getting cut..?
