I am OK with Majid Hosseini not going because he is 100% going to be in the Asian Cup and he is young. Rouzbeh not being there will make all of our stress levels come down.

He didn't need to start Jalal Hosseini in our friendly vs. Turkey as he has enough experience.

Just wish Kaveh Rezaei was there instead of Vahid Amiri ... but everything else works!

Carlos Queiroz knows how to play the fans...he fooled us all with starting Roozbeh Cheshmi.

Biggest reason was that we didnt have the scheduled Camps and friendlies so he could t est cheshmi in a more competitive environment! This was a great plan from CQ to let SJH Train back in Iran in PEC to keep fit with a special program what he gave to him and take cheshmi so he can test him out, he knew SJH inside out and knows what he's capable of but didnt know what cheshmi was capable of and thats why it was the perfect plan to take cheshmi to turkey and test him against a good opposition.

He got his answers and crossed of cheshmi and the other guy and brought back SJH! as simple as that.

If you got this list from FootFunIran it was a stupid joke/mistake by their admins!

The same people who justified jalals exclusion with the prelim list are the same ones happy to see him back 🤔 interesting

This is so stupid! Seyed Jalal would have benefited the Turkey friendly together with Pouraliganji!

I'm quite sad for poor Ghafouri though. The guy tried really hard!

Waste. Jalal could have benefited with being with the team and playing against Turkey. Now he has Lithuania to get into the team. But who knows maybe he won’t even start

In all seriousness though I think Pouraliganji will start together with Montazeri as it has been this duo since late 2017.

Hosseini will be brought in when we need to defend a lead - he knows how to lead the defense like no other player.

I'm glad CQ came to his senses and dropped Cheshmi. A 40 year old Jalal Hosseini is still better than Cheshmi.

Seyed Jamal back so that was cq ace since he never played morroco Spain and Portugal spy have see. Seyed jalal and porualigahngi combo he taught cheshmi could do it and realize no but after World Cup seyed Jalal must retire

If there was one player who did not necessarily needed to be "tested" in our recent friendlies, then it had to be Jalal Hosseini. CQ already fully knows Hosseini's abilities/shortcomings. However, players like Cheshmi, Khanzadeh etc. did have to be tested extensively and that is why they featured in our last few friendlies. Cheshmi did not fully impress and has been cut (although Khanzadeh somehow still made it).

I wished Majid Hosseini would have made it instead of Khanzadeh, but I guess Khanzadeh can also serve as a back-up for our RB position and that is why he finally made it. Majid will play a big part of our TM in the coming decade and I'm sure he'll make it to the coming AC's and WC's.

Too bad Ghafouri didn't make it (personally I would have prefered him over both Rezaeian and Khanzadeh), but with the presence of Ramin and Khanzadeh, plus even Montazeri as a possible back-up in that position, I guess there was no room for him anymore.

Personally I would have included Kaveh over Amiri or even Ghoochannejhad, but I still respect CQ's decisions and I'm sure he's got his own arguments for including Amiri, despite most of us not understanding them.

                        Esteghlal for life!!

Guys, it has been reported that this squad list is not official at all. So maybe we jumped to conclusions too early and need to wait a bit more...

Is there anybody who can tell me why we have 7 defenders? We should have 8? And 7 Forwards while we should have 6.
Happy to see cheshmi is out and Jalal is back. Gholi zadeh IMO is no defender. Majid Hosseini was out but if Jalal is back he
wouldn't get playing time. He has got training that is what counts. Some of CQs plan has not worked fine since this happens.
I now have reason to think we will play 4-3-3.

I think the main reason for Amiri is his stamina, work-ethic and speed. We can benefit from his
abilities in counter attacks (f.e. against Spain, Portugal)
But totally agree that still vouria is missed in TM.
