I agree, im looking forward to the games and can't wait to have Iran play on British TV. It's a novelty for me that I won't have to watch them on some rubbish stream that lags. I have my friends who aren't Iranian also looking out for their games , I just want them to make themselves proud and play for their shirt.

- Federation officially announced that Gholizadeh who is not part of the final list of 23, will travel to Russia as a "guest" player and could still be included in case of any injuries.
- CQ and Team Melli captain (it is not specified who, my guess is either Masoud or Ashkaan) have expressed their utmost appreciation and thanks to all the players who in the last few years have worked hard to support Team Melli in the qualifying or preparation (friendly) games; especially Andranik Teymoorian, Seyed Jallal Hosseini, Vooria Ghafoori, Kaveh Rezaie, Mohammad Ansari, Ali Karimi, Ezatollah Poorghaz, Saeed Aghaie, and Sosha Makaani who all played a crucial role in Team Melli qualification for the World Cup.
- Also CQ commends all the Clubs, coaches and club officials who in the past few years have helped Team Melli.

Wouldn't be surprised if we see Cheshmi in the lineup against Morocco as a DM. With Ezzatollahi out the first game, he needs to pair up Hajsafi or Ebrahimi with someone who is physical and tough. He fits the mold

Captain won't be Ashkan. The guy is not in physical shape and probably can't play more than 30 minutes.

Also this statement makes it seem like CQ will be stepping down after WC. . I don't remember him making a statement like this thanking people last worldcup.

I'm not really bothered by Cheshmi's inclusion because he's a solid DM, but I can't understand why Amiri and Dejageh are on the Final list. Ashkan is not in shape, and Amiri has been awful these past two years for TM and Perspolis.

But whatever, what's done is done. TM for life. Let's spank the Iberians and shock the world.

i am sure dejagah will be fit by then, he worked super hard. also other countries have the same issue with thier squad

I can live with this as long as Pejman and PAG play central back and Cheshmi (if he has to play) plays DM,...again, if CQ absolutely has to play him.
I would however keep Gholizadeh and drop Amiri instead. Last time Amiri had a good game was against Chile which was like 3.5 years ago.

Does anyone legitimately like our group? I personally do because we would never get a chance to play with high caliber players, and it would be a good place to start comparing our qualities and how far off we are.

for a team that plays with 1 forward we have so many forwards on the team.. I wish we had more central players rather then wingers.. Ill take more ezzatolahi then jahanbaksh type

“Forwards” in the context of the roster is broad. 3 maybe 4 of those players will be on the pitch at the same time.

Gholizadeh was also my pick out of these players (way too many players that could play on the wing).
Also Amiri is not thaaaaaat bad, he used to be pretty useful actually some time ago. His last game I thought he was okayish, better than the ones before.. so, yeah.

Lets see what happens now, hopefully we don't lose to Morocco at least.

i do. everyone will be watching the spain and portugal matches, like argentina in 2014. if the boys can give them a fight it will be great exposure and more respect for TM.
