^Well at the age of 19 Azmoun was not playing in the A-League but at Rubin Kazan. So..

He is however as Iranian as me and most other PDFC members. His choice for Australia doesn't change that. Should we care about him though now that he doesn't represent Iran? I would say we should care about him as much as we should care about any other Aussie player.

Sorry man I have too much love/pride as an Iranian to even respect this mans decision. And that's where I will leave it.

The most important question is, did he ever receive a formal invite from TM?

          As Bill Walton would say:

possibly the most overrated and hyped up player in the history of western civilization

Freddy Adu was 28 when he was first capped, birth certificate be damned

                He's Australian.

if there was a kid who was born in italy with 100% italian roots, but grew up in iran (somehow lol) was an extremely talented, we all know we'd prefer him play for italy.

shame on Arazani's parents because we all know a real iranian family would want their son to choose iran.

same with ghoddos, he might be from sweden, but he's iranian and I'm happy he chose to play for us

I hope he scores against Denmark and that they win. I hope he humiliates them [emoji108][emoji108]

I understand but relying on players to change their mind seems like a horrible strategy

Maybe call him up to our youth team, get some Iranian scouts to his games. You know, make him feel that we are watching him and consider him as a future national team player.

You expect them to scour the earth for every above average Iranian teenager? They can barely keep track of the ones in Iran. Unless he's the next Messi no one is going to pay attention until he plays with a senior club team.

Arzani scored against Hungary when subsituted in. Long range shot, mistake by keeper. Apparently his introduction changed how Aust played. Good luck to him. Hope he does well.
