Reaching the second round for this Iranian team is dreamland. For me, just not getting embarrassed by Spain and managing a draw out of the 3 games is good enough. We are the weakest team in the group and missing our most important player for the most important game- from a neutral perspective, 3 losses is expected. In the absence of Ezatollahi, Ziyech will be facing an exposed defence given that no one else seems to be able to replicated what ezatollahi does for the team. Our defence has holes all over it and is not the same defence that filled me with confidence last year after qualifying. Pouraliganji and Mohammadi are the only part of the 5 defensive positions that I have confidence in. GK, the other CB position and RB are all worrisome.
