One doesn't need to be a genius to see that Cheshmi is much better suited at DM instead of CB. Also Why start Amiri when you have Ghoddos and Torabi on the bench? Although it's still better than having Taremi there.

Cheshmi is better off suited to be sitting on his couch sipping Chai and eating noon-o-paneer like the rest of us, watching TM.

Cheshmi is no surprise given it's between him, Montazeri or Hosseini.

Shojaei in for Dejagah isn't a great surprise and it'll be good to see him in his advanced position again.

Amiri in for Taremi makes me think this isn't the starting XI though.

Few points on the line-up, I tried to be very objective.

*I have a very hard time understanding why Cheshmi still starts after a subpar performances against Tunisia and Turkey. Slow, late in challenges and doesn't seem to be able to read the game. I don't think that just because he is tall he should be starting over Montazeri or Hosseini. Carlos reads too much into height.

*Rezaeian has been exposed numerous times as a RB. What is it that CQ thinks he is good in defending? He's decent in going forward but the main quality of a RB is to defend properly.

*Shojaei was responsible for dangerous turn overs in the Turkey game. I wouldn't want to think what's going to happen when we play much more skilled players than Cosun. As soon as the tempo of the game goes up, Masoud gets completely lost.

*Amiri's final product lacks any precision. He runs, dribbles and sends in a cross without looking up. This may work in AFC but is called a one trick pony on decent stage. Ghoddos should feel like shit because he is showing way more potential than Amiri, yet gets benched every game for Amiri or Taremi.

Cheshmi, shojaei, and amiri is a travesty. Ghoddos must be wondering why he joined us to get benched for the likes of taremi, amiri, shojaei. Not sure how cheshmi deserves yet more game time. Good to see ebrahimi I guess. From the available options he’s probably the best to fill for saied
