I think I am stating the obvious here. But suspect it is not so obvious to so many here going by their responses to the scoreline.
This was a game not about the score line at all. it was more about game plans and tactics. That's why it was behind the closed doors.

England "just" beat Lithuania with one goal in the first round for World cup qualifiers, does that mean anything ? ... Are some people here just bashing for the sake of bashing ? If we lose, they bash, if we draw, they bash and when we win, they bash ... The worst is that even if we clearly win, they will bash as well, blaming others to be "tired" or not playing with their full squad or whatever ...
Beside those trolls there because they have a politcal agenda consisting of trying to undermine anything that could be achieved under the current "regime", many others are just having a mental health issue they should go and deal with a shrink or something ... Seriously ...
The purpose of these friendlies are to "try" different combinations in order to "prepare" the team as best as possible for the world cup, not to feed your mental disease guys.

the game was behind closed doors ..... how do you know what tactic or formations were used and if you don't know what tactic or formations were used, how do you know what's revealed after the match were actually the tactic and formation used within the game.

Apparently Karim was subbed for Taremi in the 80th minute. Personally, I don't think Taremi is WC material let alone a good starter or 80 minute player but we'll see.

The good news is (if the line-ups and subs were accurate) that Masoud and Ashkan held-up for 90 minutes and CQ went with a 4-1-4-1 which is a must against Spain and potentially Portugal.

I still like to see a 4-2-2-2 against Morocco but will be happy with a 4-1-4-1 too. The important thing is we got the goal for the confidence boost. Fingers crossed.

I think some should remember that our players probably weren't pushing themselves 100% to the max in this game. It was probably a light friendly, with a focus on avoiding injury/fatigue. We are now less than 7 days from the Morocco game, and have Spain and Portugal not much further than that.

People who don't understand that this was a warm up, and Azmoun isn't going to be running his max speed/jumping and fighting for ever ball should rethink how to approach this match.

Would you prefer hearing Iran 3-0 Lithuania, but Azmoun was injured and will miss Russia? This game was to keep the boys active, it was not a test of our quality and 100% tactics. SMH people don't understand these simple, logical concepts.

Bingo! No one wants an injury right now. if they were smart, they would play like how I would play with a buddy in a park for of kids and people. very gingerly
