Looking forward to 2022 World Cup

Having the unfortunate luck of drawing Spain and Porteful in the world cup and realizing the 4 years of preparation of CQ for the World cup can just up in smoke in two weeks makes me wish for:

1- A decent showing in these games. It would be sweet if we make it out of our group, but one win and 2 respectable losses is something to build on,

2- next 4 years of steady growth of our legionnaires. hopefully all of our youngsters can make it to where their ambition takes the. The trend is good..If last world cup some one would tell us that we will not take one of the best forwards in belgian league, everyone in this forum would laugh at him.

3- next 4 years of less political hashieh with Iran. Hopefully we will have better friendlies during upcoming years. One thing that CQ has started is not having any friendlies against asian opponents. IFF must absolutely continue this. No shit friendly games.

4- the trend with good foreign coaches in our football system must continue. IFF shall make it mandatory that all people managing premier and first league hold a FIFA A licence. Make it a rule. That is it. IF any one seriously cares about their career, they should study and get the required licences. See what 2 semi decent coaches did for Esteghlal and Perspolis. All teams should coaches of same level.

5- with the migration of young players to Europe, the teams will have to play more younger players. They should increase the length of the contracts so they may benefit from transfer fees.

6- It is a shame when some players do not have a decent video clips of themselves and our forum members have to do the work for them. It is basic marketing. All teams must absolutely spend some money on their players PR. They will make more money from it.

7- Women must be allowed back in the stadium. The games must be taken away from all lat and loot players and given back to the young boys, girls and families. we will not be successful in these games unless the whole country can enjoy it

8- and the most important of all. Who will lead us into the next campaign. We all love CQ, but does he have the enrgy to continue fighting for 4 more years. I do not see it. Hopefully we can get a decent manager and leader.

IF we follow all of these, I can almost guarantee us going to the last eight of next world cup.

Now lets have a ball next month.
Hope to have our boys make us proud without any injuries.

    VIVA TEAM MELLI

Starting lineup in four years could be full of legionnaires.

        Abedzadeh

        Moharammi PAG M. Hosseini Mohammadi

        Ezzatolahi Noorafkan Ghoddos

        Gholilzadeh Azmoun Jahanbakhsh

Subs: Rezaei, Hajsafi, Shekari, Shariati, Delfi, Torabi, etc.

I doubt this squad will even be 10% correct tho. A lot changes in 4 years.

Going against big favourites might work in our favour. Against Bosnia we lost 3-1 and Nigeria was a 0-0. Against Argentina, they needed a late Messi free-kick and nearly lost too.

People will think everything is on the Morocco game, but Iran are surely more likely to steal something than Morocco against the big two.

Argentina game was once in a lifetime game, besides Argies were horrible and totally under-estimated Iran, which i dont think teams will do as much this WC.
Dont like the non-selection of SJH and Ghafouri, both starters in my eyes.
              We will see what happens.

Portugal aren't great either. They were awful at Euro 2016. If Ronaldo plays then it's a worry, but so was Messi, and at Euro 2016 Portugal played better when they didn't have to pass everything to him for him to miss.

If you think Iran have some sort of awful preparation, consider Portugal scraped through their group on goal difference above Switzerland before losing 3-0 in just 45 minutes to Netherlands and drawing at home to Tunisia.

Against the likes of Morocco, Iran have to simply play better against a team that are favourites. To the likes of Spain and Portugal, Iran are just another little team they'll break down eventually. "They'll defend and break" is what they always hear. Ronaldo will strut around trying to score long rangers and hassling his teammates. Spain will pass it around and hopefully not realise they're not playing a final ball until it's too late.

Not that i disagree but you talk as if we are Brazil.
Who are we to critique other teams? With the way we have been playing recently i can't understand your analogy.. It just seems a bit hypocritical.. We lost to a mediocre Turkey team - and no - When the game was played this close to the world cup it was not just a "meaningless friendly".

lol half the team was playing out of position and our star CB Cheshmi gave them the goals, just like his assist in the Tunisia game. Best defending I've seen in years

                      I don't talk like we're Brazil, I talk like Portugal aren't Argentina.

You critiqued, so I gave my critique. Plus I didn't know how familiar you were with Europe and Euro 2016. It's not hypocritical to analyse other teams if the one you support isn't the best in the world.

Some people have been taking friendlies seriously and being dramatic when talking about Iran, so I compared it to someone who we would build up, like Portugal, who have also had bad results.

The friendlies aren't meaningless, but they're not ultra competitive. They're used to test systems, backup players, and players in different positions. Especially Carlos, with players who can play in many places, he's been playing them everywhere they can to see what they do and how they fit. It is very wise. You don't want him trying something untested at a WORLD CUP do you? You're not going to be celebrating a friendly win at the expense of a World Cup win.

I'm from England, I know what happens when a country treats friendlies like they're a barometer. Just look at the last decade. Or even just 2 years ago when we (not me) celebrated wildly at beating France, Germany and Portugal in the build up to Euro 2016... then at Euro 2016, we drew with Russia and Slovakia, barely beat Wales, and got knocked out by Iceland...

Noghting will happend, nobody wants to play friendly against us. I am afraid after CQ Iranian will take over.. There is only one positief about WC2022 it is near Iran by the Persian Gulf so our players will feel like home.

This WCQ Argentina was horrible btw.
I hope i am proven wrong. I hope you are right.

Buddy, have a little faith, the reason we Iranians are suffering right now is the fact that we have a loser mentality, we
enter everything with a preconceived loser mentality

This happens also in our fight against IR and all other aspects of life

The games has not even started, yet you are talking about 4 years from now while not even excited about a decent group we are in and having the chance to play solid football against world class teams
