Let this be a lesson to those who undermine CQ's strategy
Saudi Arabia, in my view, provided a case study in how not to perform as an underdog. They dominated possession (61%-39%), but were repeatedly smacked on quick counter-attacks as their vulnerable defense couldn't handle Russia's strong attacking prowess. Dare I say that the tidbits of the first half I watched reminded me of the Iran vs. Turkey match.
So, when Iran comes out conservative and disciplined tomorrow, don't throw a fit. If you want to win as an underdog, you need to understand your shortcomings and play smart.

I dont blame it on their technical skills rather on their mental weakness which is
also an issue with TM. Russia didnt play so special they got their grip after
the first goal before that KSA had arround 60-65% possession. In terms
of passing game they are better than TM (at least from what i habe seen from
our team since the syria game) but we have much more defensive stability and
have a better physical game.
How many goals did TM score after passing the ball from the defensive line
to the opponent box? Short-quick passed and one touch combinations
are something that i saw in TM very rare.
Anyway i hope that we are going to beat marocs or get at least a draw
but i predict a TM loss. I am praying that i am wrong.

TM could do hundreds of mid to defense passes in its own third and make their stats look good, but it means nothing. Don't fall for stats in football. The only one that matters is goals scored.

If somebody already addressed this, then I'm sorry - I don't always have time to read every single post on threads with hundreds of replies. You don't have to be rude about it.
