I hope I don't get ridiculed for saying this but if Iran manages to win against Spain and Morocco ties against Portugal, then we have secured 1st place in the group. HOLY SHIT.
If we manage to win against Spain, no jokes, we can even win the World Cup. Greece made the miracle true. If we beat Spain we can beat anybody.
Guys, I noticed we don't have any digital artworks for Team Melli this year. Last World Cup we had some nice animated artwork of our players with the World Cup theme. Looking for wallpaper and cover photo. Please share them if you do.
Well for one, Ezatolahi will be back, so maybe there will be more efficient passing.
Secondly, against Morocco it was long ball, so pass accuracy will be low. It was this tactic that led to the goal, so it worked.
Thirdly, are we seriously going to compare Iran to Spain and Portugal?
Well we are going to play Spain and Portugal, so yes, we nees to match their accuracy if not their tactics. I urge you to go and look at the passing accuracy of teams you consider in Irans class. 65% is low...one of every 3 passes was not completed. We did get lucky with Morocco. Look at their pasding...they also had lots of long passes.
If you want to see passoinate Iranian fans watch this video.
An Iranian man has driven his whole family (7 people including himself) in a Peugot Persia from Andimeshk to Moscow and will go to every Iran game as well.
Damesh garm. Peace and happiness to this guy and his family. That is one heck of a trip.

Playing Spain and Portugal means, if we play long ball, you would expect even lower percentages! It's not about the first ball, it's about the pressure and winning the second ball, which is no relation to pass percentage. A lot of the time, Morocco were attacking. Clearences that put the ball back in their half counts as an 'unsuccessful pass'.
By all means, if you want, you go ahead and pray for a higher pass percentage. Meanwhile the Iran team, with a manager with decades of global coaching experience in domestic and international football, will be playing for a higher 'goals scored' column and a lower 'goals conceded' column. So far with success.
You're complaining about a tactic that stopped the favourites seriously threatening, and directly lead to Iran winning the match. You seriously need to find something else to moan about.

Relax baba, this stats includes clearances. We are not a team that plays tiki taki football and if we try we will get punished just like Saudi did in the 1st game. Saudi Arabia had 511 passes with a completion rate of 87%, had 62% of the possession. And what did they have to show for it? 5 zilch!
We play to our strength, which is starve the opposition of space in the danger areas and counter attack. That strategy has a lot of breakdown play, doesn't necessitates high passing game.
I saw the Azmoun interview and he looked sad for some reason. Maybe its the social media or people's comment. Guys go to his page and send him good messages. make him more motivated https://www.instagram.com/sardar_azmoun/

I wonder what would happen (have a strong suspicion we'd get smacked by a couple of quick Spanish goals) if we started the game pressing high up and attacking Spain. Perhaps send a few long balls to the wings and go for second and third balls to try to create a few chances in the first 5-10 minutes of the game. Kinda take Span by surprise and see if we can score a quick one.
