like the penalty the ref never called when morocco played Portugal and didn't bother going to VAR
like the penalty the ref didn't call when azmoun was taken down... twice and he didn't bother going to VAR
like the red card that wasn't given to ronaldo even though it was clear on VAR
get off my case man. you've been nagging at me for every post i make
and it took the ref a few minutes until he decided to go to VAR. he didn't want to do it.
give it up.
Again, Iran were literally given a penalty that directly risked leading to Portugal being knocked out.

Refs missed a penalty that happened 10-15 minutes earlier by Carvalho.
CR7 should have gotten a red. Its obvious. But they didn't want one of their stars to miss 3 games.

Yes, we got f***ed. Its ok to admit that.
There is even stories on 433 Instagram were 70% said that both incidents were penalties. (1 being the handball which was given, fair play. The other being Carvalho pulling down Azmoun, no fair play because I've seen less at this tournament given.)

If that was a penalty, then the 'handball' penalty simply made up for it and we still get 1-1.
I don't know how we got fucked by being handed a penalty that ultimately nearly knocked them out.

Imagine if Iran had scored in the 70th minute instead of the 90+ minute. It would've changed the whole rhythm of the game. Getting that late PK doesn't make up for the fact that we could've had an earlier PK which could have given our team a much needed boost earlier.

The penalty came at a relatively good time that plays into Iran's gameplan of forcing the team back in the final minutes. It worked in nearly 2 of the 3 matches at the World Cup.
If it had come in the 70th minute, and if it even went in, I think Portugal would've kept playing the same way - winding down the clock, giving Iran no chance to be a threat, then holding on in the final minutes, Iran breaks... Taremi shoots... ah, missed.
But we have no idea what would've happened, we can't assume Iran would've won. That's the trap us football fans can fall into, how every decision would've seen us win. Maybe Portugal would've scored another instead and regained the effective '2-goal lead' in this scenario.

And the red card ?
I’ll wait.
I assume you don’t think being down a man would have changed the game either ?

Being a man down can help of course, although sometimes the 10-man team digs in and is harder to break down. You often hear that a team played better with 10 men, and with 11 men Portugal won the Euros after Ronaldo came off! But what we do know is that a man being sent off doesn't equate to two goals.
Again it's as I said, don't fall into the trap of just assuming a decision would've meant that the other team would've scored the goals they needed (and not conceded). If Ronaldo got sent off, we don't know if we would've scored 2 goals, 1 goal, 0 goals, 3 goals, or how the game would've changed.
I'll show respect and avoid saying condescending things like "I'll wait" and eye-rolling smileys as if I've already won the argument I've just created, before the other person even gets the chance to reply...

Well then why are we not intentionally getting ourselves a red card at the beginning of each game to ensure we dig deeper, become harder to break down and play better?
I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

Because being a man down can help the other team of course, although yes sometimes the 10-man team digs in and is harder to break down. You often hear that a team played better with 10 men. However we already play this way, so I don't see going down to 10 men making ourselves harder to break down, especially as we are the ones needing a goal.
But back on topic: what we do know is that a man being sent off doesn't equate to two goals.
My only point was is that the mistakes by the referee and VAR staff heavily changed the course of the game, I’m not speculating on number of
Goals scored but an earlier penalty and a red card would have definitely improved our chances of winning that game.
Quite frankly I don’t like your dismissive attitude at all.
I reply the way I did to you because your argument is dismissive and silly, to act like the outcome of the game wasn’t seriously compromised, it definitely was, and most analysts have also said that Iran suffered MULTIPLE injustices at the hands of VAR in the second half.

What is this board's obssession with telling people who they are? How was I dismissive? I'm fucking replying to you and trying to have a fucking conversation like the respectful adults I thought we are. And now you reveal you were rude because you decided I was rude for not agreeing with you.
That's it, fuck this board and all your shitty attitudes. I'm sick of all your hateful disrespect toward each other. This board seemed so much better but now I see when it's match time they just turn on each other. I'm not coming here for abuse.
