I would like Morocco to beat Portugal which would give the Portuguese a negative goal difference.

Then we try our best for a at least tie against Portugal.

Realistically, it is very difficult to get any point from Spain and if it wasn't for CR Portugal would have left that match empty handed.

I believe we have a better chance at getting a result today against Spain than Portugal.

Ronaldo has the referee falling for his fouls, our team will be most likely gassed out and Portugal’s counter attacks are deadly. So if we go into the 3rd game with needing a win, I expect a carbon copy of the Bosnia match.

I don’t anticipate (at least I hope) we will see our team gassed like we did in 2014 simply bc CQ won’t hesitate to use any of these 23 players whereas in 2014 I don’t think he had as much confidence in most players who were not in the starting XI with the exception of 2-3 players

rankings shall be determined as follows:

d) greatest number of points obtained in the group matches between the
teams concerned;
e) goal difference resulting from the group matches between the teams
concerned;
f) greater number of goals scored in all group matches between the teams
concerned;

Still can happen with a tie but goal difference will be the tie breaker.

I hope CQ and our boys don't contemplate these scenarios... They need to concentrate on their next two games to win regardless of odds. Sorry but this is losers' mentality.

This is an unfortunate post! This is not a loser's mentality. This is looking at different path to qualify starting with the "hope for winning" at the very first line. If the rest of the post is "too complicated" it should be ignored ...

To be honest the most probable path for Iran is still not to advance. They just need to play in a way that they can be proud of themselves after (like the Argentina match 4 years ago), because no one can seriously expect them to get any result against Portugal or Spain!

That's correct. That is the most probable "case". But the most probable cases out of the possible cases for Iran to advance was listed.

I believe in our players. I don't believe in morocco....
they played very good football but can't score. I think Spain will win against them
now we need 2 points to qualify for sure. I don't count on marrocco to steal some points from Spain, this means we need one win against Portugal or Spain or 2 ties...I believe if we can beat a team it is Portugal....they have a similar style of play like Argentina and some players are experienced

Unfortunately after the Morocco loss, there will be no difference between tying or losing against Spain.
