Morocco drawing Spain does not help us at all though...

My friend, I wrote this before the Iran-Spain game. Had it ended in a draw, a Morocco-Spain draw would've sent us through to the Round of 16.

But it didn't, so now we play for the victory.

First of all I wanna thank MR CQ and our boys for our great performance so far ! Im sure everyone is impressed ! I never had doubts in CQ ! I knew He would do well ! Now lets get started on the topic .

Okay so in order for us to qualify we must beat/draw Portugal !

Amazing scenario which could happen and Im sure most people would love to see.

If we beat portugal by 1 Goal and Morocco beat spain by 1 goal!
Iran will qualify with 6 points and both spain and portugal will have 4 Points each with exact same Goal Difference and goal scored !

Which team will be the 2nd team ?? Will they toss the coin ? How its gonna work ? Im really curios to know.

Next scenario :
If we draw against portugal 3 -3 and spain lose to morocco by 2 goals we will qualify .

Iran will have 4 points (0+) and spain will have 4 points (-1)

3rd scenario Which is most likely to happen! I have so much believe in our team !

We beat portugal and spain draw/win against morocco !

Iran and Spain will both qualify to next round. Iran will top the group if spain draw (which i think its highly possible) . This Moroccon team deserves at least a point in this tournament !

If we win we'll go through regardless of the Spain Morocco game. I think it'll be difficult for our boys to provide the same world-class display they had against Spain so my hopes aren't high, maybe 20%.Especially that I think CQ will put back Jahanbakhsh and Shojaei in the starting lineup, and defense is not their strength. You never know though!

Yes, VAR is the new football mafia and it can be used to fix any match. There is really no transparency to anyone what happens inside the VAR room and who rules what. In Iran match the VAR was not the assistant referee but the real referee. VAR told the referee he should ask for video replay while it should be the other way around.

No we can go through if Morocco wins 1-0 if we draw 4-4, 5-5 etc... with Portugal (not 3-3 as head to head rule would apply )

Not gonna happen tho, we need to beat Portugal and thats the end of it.

guys i have never been more positive in my life for an Iran match than the one on Monday. we are way better than Portugal and we will show it on Monday. 2:0 best game in the history of iran. the display against Spain has clearly shown we belong to the next round and we will get there!

Forgive me, I thought it deserved its own thread.

I did this myself, so let me know if I messed up somewhere:

Spain win, Portugal win: Both go through, whoever gets the biggest win (Goal Difference) or scores more if GD is same (Goals For) will finish first, otherwise fair play ranking (basically the number of yellow cards, second yellows and red cards) and then drawing of lots (random lottery) decides.

Spain win, Portugal/Iran draw: 1st - Spain, 2nd - Portugal

Spain win, Iran win: 1st - Spain, 2nd - Iran

Spain draw, Portugal win: 1st - Portugal, 2nd - Spain

Spain draw, Portugal/Iran draw: Spain and Portugal go through, whoever has the highest scoring draw finishes first, otherwise fair play and then drawing of lots decides.

Spain draw, Iran win: 1st - Iran, 2nd - Spain

Spain lose, Portugal win: 1st - Portugal, 2nd - Spain

Spain lose by 1 goal, Portugal/Iran draw: 1st - Portugal. Spain finish 2nd, unless Iran score 4 more goals in their draw (e.g. Spain 0 - 1 Morocco, Iran 4 - 4 Portugal)

Spain lose by 2 goals or more, Portugal/Iran draw: 1st - Portugal, 2nd - Iran

Spain lose, Iran win: 1st - Iran, 2nd - whoever loses by less (better goal difference) or scores the most in equal losses (goals scored) finishes 2nd (e.g. Spain finish 2nd if they lose 3-1 and Portugal lose 2-0). If both teams lose by the equal scoreline, fair play or drawing of lots decides.
