The current on going England vs Panama game is another example of a lesser team making the folly of playing an open game. Panama is down 2-0 in 20 odd mins.

Tunisia was playing an open game from the word go, pushing forward and chasing, hence they got scored on. Go and watch the game again. Even the commentator was saying that Tunisia plays an open game .

Play attacking? Did you watch Belgium vs Tunisia? Tunisia came out with attack mindset, did you see what happened? Portugal will hope Iran comes out with this mindset. They are themselves a counter attacking team. TM should play to its strength. Sureing up its defence and counter attacking. Otherwise Iran will lose.

Portugal strategy is not very dissimilar to ours, mainly based on defending, giving the ball to the opposition and the use of counters/set pieces led by Ronaldo. It would be interesting to see how they will approach this game.

We should avoid silly fouls/giving away free kicks and even corners as much as possible, as this is probably their only way of scoring on us.

On a side note, Spain gave TM extra room to come forward in the second half which created more room which leaded to a goal, it was a great tactic from spain and CQ should have thought about that. So I've been reading this more often here, however as I remember it, we did not play a very offensive game against Bosnia and in fact it was Bosnia that had the most attacks and ball possession. I don't recall correctly, but I think we only started to show urgency when we fell behind.
What I do remember is that we never played a all out offensive game.

Not that I say we should do that against Portugal, but I think we should and will not park the bus against Portugal as we did against Spain.

Since Iranians already started kissing CQ ass for losing 1-0 to spain and getting a lucky win over Morocco who destroyed Iran, CQ will play the same tactics against Portugal and hope for a 0-0, Portugal will go through and Iran will come back without scoring a goal and everyone is happy........this CQ doesnt go for a win in the last game , just dont lose...

the one on one by azmoun was the best Chance of the game, after that jahanbakhsh had a Rebound Chance..so if you mean passing the ball left to right without creating any danger was destroing then Keep playing fifa Boy..

I don’t trust Damin against Ronaldo
We really don’t need his help on offense Monday
